Role
The Warehouse Technician position handles shipping, receiving, material handling, and inventory functions.
Within the scope of the job requirements, the Company ISO/API Quality Program and procedures, Company policies, and Safety.
Essential Functions
Receives shipments to the facility, documents receipt of materials, and reviews items received for accuracy.
Communicate with internal customers and with external customers using email with detailed accuracy.
Prepares shipments by building, packing, and protecting products as needed.
Process shipments by using a third-party shipping portal.
Coordinate freight pick-ups.
Responsible for the movement of materials into work cells.
Coordinate the efficient flow of materials and products throughout the manufacturing and assembly.
Responsible for the movement of materials into production areas and work cells.
Pull supermarket items based on the part number and quantity requirements.
As required, retrieve, and organize totes, pallets, carts, baskets, cantilevers, etc.
Verifies inventory by comparing them to physical stock counts and investigates discrepancies, including demand counting.
Determines proper storage methods, identification, and stock location based on size, turnover, and rack space entering the supermarket.
Participate in continuous improvement events.
Completes all necessary documentation and performs all related Syspro transactions.
Load and unload materials to and from the designated storage area, such as racks, shelves, or vehicles using motorized lift vehicles.
Make recommendations for improvements for process effectiveness and efficiency.
Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related tasks as needed.
May operate company vehicles to make pickups and deliveries.
Qualifications & Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent qualification.
Electronic Technician certification or comparable certification or licensure, a plus.
Preferred 1-year prior work experience using Syspro ERP software.
Skills, Abilities & Work Style
At least 2 years prior work experience working in a material handling role.
At least 1 year of prior work experience receiving and moving materials.
At least 1 year of prior work experience using UPS, FedEx, and or Old Dominion software tools.
At least 1 year of prior work experience building/preparing pallets for shipments.
Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities.
Work Environment & Physical Demands
The work environment characteristics described here represent those employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. The job is completed under some temperature variations and some hazardous conditions. The employee occasionally works near machinery fluids and material wastes. The employee occasionally works near moving mechanical parts and may sometimes be exposed to the risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is sometimes loud. Employees often encounter dust, dirt, grease, and paint on metal surfaces.
