Campbell Fittings is pleased to announce that we are currently recruiting a Warehouse Supervisor to join our Houston TX team. The ideal candidate for this position will have prior extensive experience in a distribution center environment.

Please note that final compensation to be offered will be commensurate upon experience.


Supervisor Responsibilities: 

  • 2-3 employees on 1st shift

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Assists/takes part in the overall planning, organizing, and operations of the Campbell Fittings Houston distribution center.  This includes: budgeting, staffing, distribution operations, facility and equipment maintenance, safety, and housekeeping. 
  • By using existing metrics (and any approved new metrics), drive YOY increases in orders picked and shipped, YOY increase in Order put-away timing and accuracy, reductions in inventory errors, increased utilization of storage space with innovative techniques, and other agreed upon metrics.
  • Ensure all materials and products are received, picked, packed and shipped accurately and on time. 
  • Provide leadership, motivation, training and development for the team. 
    1. Training of personnel includes:
      • Sponsor certifications and hands-on training.
      • Forklift training and order picking
    2. Development is inclusive of but not limited to having the authority to enforce disciplinary action for employees who do not follow safety guidelines.
  • Assure compliance with all required industry standards and government requirements as stated in the Quality Management System, process documentation and all Company Human Resources, Health, Safety, and Environmental guidelines to ensure customer quality requirements are met.
  • Responsibility and authority to ship the correct product to customers.
  • Maintain and protect all company, supplier, and customer proprietary and confidential information.
  • Coordinate and supervises all activities at the Distribution Center. 
  • Supervises effectively by directing work, setting priorities, and communicating with employees on all shifts to maintain a very safe environment, in which safety, teamwork, quality, on time delivery and cost goals are met.
  • Assist with direct employee functions such as selection, hiring, and development of employees, including salary decisions, performance reviews and creating development plans.  
  • Establish proper planning to meet budget.
  • YOY improvement in all established Distribution Center Metrics
  • Reports to and works with the VP of Operations and team members to establish strategic plans for the Distribution Center to meet daily shipments. 
  • Plan and coordinate daily shipping schedules via TMS system, or daily will-call pickups, to assure 95% on-time delivery of all customer orders.
  • Provide assistance when needed for the resolution of freight-related claims including internal corrective actions for customer satisfaction and Chargebacks.
  • Identify continuous improvement efforts relative to the Distribution Center & Receiving to reduce costs, improve upon safety and efficiency, optimize space and improve systems.
  • Ensure compliance with the Quality Management System and Environmental Management System.
  • Understand the process for nonconforming products 
  • Perform as a working supervisor and perform other typical distribution center duties to contribute to the day-to-day operations.
  • Follow all established safety rules and procedures including wearing Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) which includes:
    1. Mandatory: hard sole toe protection anti-slip shoes
    2. Optional: hearing protection, gloves
  • Report defective materials and unusual or unsafe conditions to the Distribution Center Warehouse Manager.
  • Maintain regular attendance and work required overtime as needed often without notice.  
  • Performs other related or additional duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Self-motivated individual with keen interest in quickly learning and applying new skills who can follow written/verbal instructions and meet deadlines with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to interface in a professional manner with vendors, customers, and employees.
  • Ability to react quickly to changing requirements and developments.
  • Must excel at working in a team environment.
  • Must be able to communicate (speak, listen, write) in English as our current business clientele primarily requires doing so.
  • Tied with this, being able to clearly communicate while providing employee training and when working with both internal and external personnel.  

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelors/Associates Degree in a Business, Technical, Logistics or related discipline preferred or relevant experience and broad Distribution Center Logistics experience within a fast-paced Distribution Center environment including:
    1. Computer skills – PC proficiency: Microsoft Office.   Macola, TMS systems
    2. Hazardous materials knowledge a plus.
    3. Strong analytical skills to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
    4. Strong planning/organization & time management skills.
  • Must have excellent interpersonal and written/verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to apply organizational skills and pay critical attention to detail.
  • Proven work experience as a Warehouse Supervisor or similar role
  • Knowledge of warehouse operations
  • Preferably 3+ years of warehouse or logistics experience.
  • Preferably 1+ years of experience in a supervisory role.

Physical Requirements:

  • Requires physical dexterity to utilize computer equipment with the ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time.  
  • Must be able to comfortably lift light to moderate weight objects (up to 50 pounds) throughout the day as needed.
  • Must be able to bend and twist throughout entire shift.
