The Warehouse and Facility Manager - Houston is responsible for the daily operations of the Houston warehouse, shop, and office spaces. This position manages stock levels, equipment readiness, consumables, and workforce activities to ensure projects are fully supported. The Facility Manager oversees shipments, vehicle and yard upkeep, vendor coordination, and EHS compliance while serving as the primary point of contact for all Houston facility activities.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

 

Warehouse & Inventory

  • Maintain accurate stock of consumables, equipment, and spare parts required for project execution.
  • Oversee warehouse organization, staging, and housekeeping to ensure efficient operations.
  • Track incoming and outgoing shipments; verify accuracy of packing lists and load outs.
  • Evaluate shortages, report gaps in equipment or consumables, and implement corrective actions.
  • Monitor inventory levels and coordinate replenishment with Richmond logistics.

Workforce & Operations

  • Manage Houston warehouse and shop personnel including scheduling, hours, and task assignments.
  • Supervise production activities in the shop, ensuring efficiency, quality, and adherence to EHS standards.
  • Approve employee time weekly and support workforce training initiatives (crane/forklift certifications, PPE enforcement).

 

 

Vehicles, Yard & Facility

  • Manage Houston vehicles (shop and field), ensuring inspections, EZ Tag balances, and general maintenance are current.
  • Conduct weekly facility and yard inspections, overseeing pond upkeep, fence repairs, and contractor performance.
  • Coordinate building and system maintenance including AC, sewage, alarms, and permitting.

Office & Administrative

  • Allocate office space and manage personnel access to the facility.
  • Oversee utility accounts, coffee service, recycling, and cleaning vendors.
  • Ensure all permitting, emergency exit maps, and compliance postings are up to date.

HSE & Compliance

  • Conduct and document required inspections (fire extinguishers, cranes, extension cords, fall protection).
  • Enforce PPE usage and company EHS policies for all personnel entering warehouse and shop areas.
  • Maintain gas bottle supply, storage, and tracking.
  • Support disciplinary actions in alignment with Richmond leadership.

 

Skills and Abilities Required:

 

  • Strong knowledge of warehouse management, stock keeping, and inventory control systems.
  • Familiarity with IGS equipment, consumables, and project operations.
  • Knowledge of EHS regulations and facility permitting.
  • Effective leadership and workforce management skills.
  • Strong organizational and communication abilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, Project).
  • Ability to operate forklifts and supervise industrial warehouse/shop environments.
  • Demonstrated initiative and sound judgment in decision-making.

Decision/Judgment:

 

  • Responsible for ensuring accurate stock levels, timely shipments, and facility readiness.
  • Identifies and resolves equipment or consumable shortages.
  • Makes independent decisions on workforce scheduling, vendor use, and warehouse operations.
  • Recommends improvements and escalates strategic issues to Richmond leadership.

 

Effort/Working Conditions:

 

  • Job is performed across warehouse, shop, yard, and office environments.
  • Frequent lifting up to 50 lbs and operating within an industrial setting.
  • Ability to operate forklifts and oversee crane/forklift training programs.
  • Occasional evening or weekend work required to support project load outs or facility emergencies.

 

 

Education and Experience Required:

 

  • High school diploma or GED required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in a work-related field preferred.
  • Minimum 3-5 years’ progressive responsibility in warehouse or facility management.
  • Experience in inventory control, stock keeping, and project support logistics required.
  • Previous experience supervising shop or warehouse teams.
  • Familiarity with HSE inspections, equipment certifications, and industrial services environments preferred.
