NELCO is seeking a Vice President of Manufacturing to lead all aspects of our manufacturing operations across our manufacturing facilities located in Houston, TX and Amesbury, MA. This is a critical executive leadership role responsible for driving operational excellence, maintaining world-class safety and quality standards, managing P&L performance, and delivering superior customer value. The ideal Vice President of Manufacturing candidate brings proven experience leading multi-site manufacturing teams in complex, high-stakes environments.

VP of Manufacturing Job Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, manufacturing, or business administration; MBA a plus
• Extensive experience in successful manufacturing leadership roles in construction; radiation shielding industry experience preferred
• Familiarity with applicable regulatory requirements, safety standards, and compliance
• Experience with Quality Management Systems and continuous improvement methodologies
• In-depth knowledge of manufacturing processes, quality control, and supply chain management
• Strong leadership and strategic planning skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities for effective collaboration
• Demonstrated problem-solving and decision-making skills using data analysis
• Proven ability to manage budgets and achieve operational targets
• Strong understanding of NetSuite ERP including CRM and estimating systems to support cross-functional business needs.
• Flexibility to travel up to 10% of the time to corporate headquarters in Burlington, MA and manufacturing facility in Amesbury, MA
• Must possess OSHA certification

VP of Manufacturing Job Responsibilities

• Full P&L accountability for the manufacturing division
• Lead all manufacturing operations across Houston, TX and Amesbury, MA
• Develop and execute manufacturing strategies aligned with business goals
• Champion a safety-first culture ensuring full compliance with EHS regulations
• Drive operational excellence through Lean, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement initiatives
• Ensure effectiveness of Quality Management Systems (QMS) and maintain ISO certifications
• Oversee capacity planning, production scheduling, resource allocation, and cost control
• Optimize supply chain and procurement partnerships in collaboration with internal teams
• Attract, develop, and lead high-performing teams
• Manage manufacturing budgets to meet financial and operational targets
• Collaborate cross-functionally with service, project management, engineering, and sales
