About the Role:

The Unit Manager at Paradigm at Woodwind Lakes is responsible for overseeing the daily operations and clinical management of a designated nursing unit to ensure the delivery of high-quality patient care. This role involves leading and mentoring nursing staff, coordinating patient care activities, and maintaining compliance with healthcare regulations and organizational policies. The Unit Manager collaborates closely with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement care plans that meet the individual needs of residents. Additionally, the position requires managing resources efficiently, including staffing, budgeting, and supplies, to optimize unit performance. Ultimately, the Unit Manager plays a critical role in fostering a supportive and safe environment that promotes positive health outcomes and resident satisfaction.

Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and support nursing staff to ensure adherence to clinical standards and best practices.
  • Coordinate patient admissions, discharges, and transfers while maintaining accurate and timely documentation.
  • Develop and implement individualized care plans in collaboration with healthcare professionals and families.
  • Monitor and evaluate patient care quality, addressing any issues promptly to maintain high standards.
  • Manage staffing schedules, conduct performance evaluations, and provide ongoing training and development.
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements, including safety protocols and infection control measures.
  • Oversee inventory management and ordering of medical supplies to maintain adequate stock levels.
  • Serve as a liaison between patients, families, and the healthcare team to facilitate effective communication.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to policy development within the unit.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Current and valid Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) license in the state of Texas.
  • Minimum of 3 years of clinical nursing experience, preferably in a long-term care or rehabilitation setting.
  • Previous supervisory or leadership experience in a healthcare environment.
  • Strong knowledge of nursing practices, patient care standards, and healthcare regulations.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
