Staff Accountant – Manufacturing
Position Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Staff Accountant to support the accounting operations of a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This role is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, assisting with month-end close, supporting inventory and cost accounting processes, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards and internal controls. The ideal candidate has strong accounting fundamentals, manufacturing industry experience, and the ability to collaborate across operations, purchasing, and production teams.
Key Responsibilities
· Prepare and post journal entries, account reconciliations, and monthly closing activities
· Maintain general ledger accuracy and support financial statement preparation
· Reconcile bank accounts, fixed assets, prepaid expenses, and accruals
· Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable processes as needed
· Ensure compliance with company policies, GAAP, and internal controls
· Support annual audits and provide requested documentation to auditors
· Collaborate with operations and plant leadership to improve financial processes
· Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis projects
· Participate in ERP system maintenance and reporting improvements
Qualifications
Required
· Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
· 3–5 years of accounting experience, preferably in manufacturing
· Strong understanding of general ledger accounting and financial reporting
· Experience with inventory accounting and cost accounting principles
· Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and ERP/accounting systems
· Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
· Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
· Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
Preferred
· CPA designation or CPA candidate
· Experience with manufacturing ERP systems
· Experience working in multi-site manufacturing operations
Work Environment
· Office environment within a manufacturing facility
· Occasional plant floor interaction may be required
· Ability to work extended hours during month-end or year-end close periods
