Who We’re Looking For

We seek a reliable, self-motivated, and passionate paralegal with extensive litigation experience to join our dynamic legal team. The ideal candidate is a team player with strong leadership skills, capable of mentoring junior paralegals and managing cases from intake to post-verdict or settlement. Bilingual candidates (English/Spanish) are highly preferred.

 

Minimum Qualifications

  • 5 years in plaintiff personal injury litigation
  • Wrongful death/Catastrophic (Preferred)
  • Assisting attorneys in preparation for hearings and trials

 

Education (Preferred)

  • Associate degree in paralegal studies.
  • Certification from the National Association of Legal Assistants (NALA) or the American Alliance Certified Paralegal (AACP) credential.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Case Management: Oversee cases from sign-up to post-verdict or settlement, including drafting discovery, e-filing, preparing trial notebooks, ordering medical records, coordinating medical appointments, and responding to client inquiries.
  • Litigation Support: Schedule depositions, coordinate with record retrieval and deposition companies, and assist attorneys in preparing for hearings and trials.
  • Docket Oversight: Manage litigation dockets, track key performance indicators (KPIs), and ensure timely progress on cases.
  • Document Preparation: Draft legal documents, including motions, contracts, and agreements, with thorough knowledge of Texas Rules of Civil Procedure (TRCP) and Federal Rules of Civil Procedure (FRCP), including rules like TRCP 203 and 18.001 affidavits.
  • Administrative Tasks: Organize, index, and track files; analyze and organize information for reports; and provide courtroom and office support to attorneys.
  • Client and Team Coordination: Manage client communications and supervise support staff to ensure efficient case progression.

 

Required Skills

  • Strong organizational and analytical skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Microsoft 365).
  • Familiarity with legal databases, preferably Needles.
  • Ability to multitask and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Collaborative mindset with excellent leadership and communication skills.
