Summary of Position:
This role will be vital to the financial success of the company and the individual will need to thrive in a fast-paced environment as we are experiencing hyper growth. This position will support management and operations with analysis and financial information by partnering with the field to leverage this information to improve operational efficiencies and profitability. This position is responsible for ensuring processes and controls are in place in order to provide timely and accurate financial information.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
The following represents most of the position's duties but is not meant to be all-inclusive or prevent other duties from being assigned when necessary. Employees are expected to comply with all regulatory, environmental, and safety rules and standards, as well as corporate policies.
As a Senior Operations Financial Analyst, you will be responsible for:
- Responsible for interfacing with field operations as it relates to field financial information, operational reporting, and processes that impact financial data.
- Ensuring processes and controls are followed to assure management that financials are timely, accurate, complete, and reliable.
- Preparing and maintaining supporting schedules, reporting analysis workbooks, and journal entries for the month-end close.
- Ensuring opex and capex expenses are recorded in accordance with US GAAP and accounting policy.
- Ensuring monthly opex and capex accruals are calculated and booked as they relate to cost activity.
- Supporting the Accounts Payable team with coding questions and approving invoices occasionally.
- Participating in monthly opex reviews with field operations to improve future efficiency.
- Ensuring accounting master data is designed appropriately and set up in a timely manner to enable operational reporting.
- Performing project cost analysis for coding accuracy before capitalization.
- Being the cross-functional liaison between field operations and other functional support areas.
- Interacting with Corporate Accounting and Finance teams frequently to resolve questions on accounting, internal/external reporting, and analytics.
- Recommending improvements to systems, work processes, policies, and procedures, including internal controls.
- Responsible for measuring, reporting, and maintaining Asset Retirement Obligations (AROs).
- Responsible for calculating oil and gas depletion and migrating reserves as needed.
- Assisting in acquisition or divestment due diligence activities, including acquisition integration.
- Assisting in the preparation of ad hoc analysis for operational personnel.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Must have a bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business administration, or a related field; a master’s degree in accounting is preferred.
- A CPA certification is preferred for this position.
- Minimum of 5 years of industry-related progressive experience in a financial position is required.
- Oil and gas industry experience is preferred.
- Must have excellent communication skills, with the ability to effectively articulate operational results with both corporate management and field personnel.
- Must have strong analytical skills to analyze financial data, especially as it relates to detailed cost analysis.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other financial software applications is required.
- Experience working with ERP systems (e.g., Workday and Spotfire) is preferred.
- Must be able to travel to field locations for two to three days each quarter to review financial results with field personnel.

- Operates in a professional and/or business casual office environment.
Position Type:
- This is a full-time position.
- 8 hours Monday – Friday
- Flexibility to work from home on Fridays.
- Travel requirements ~ 5% of time
