Overview
We are currently seeking experienced Pediatric ECMO Specialists (Registered Nurses) to join a nationally recognized pediatric program based in Houston, TX. These are full-time, night shift positions requiring in-person attendance. The ideal candidates will bring advanced clinical knowledge and previous ECMO experience, particularly within pediatric or neonatal intensive care settings.

About the Role
This specialized nursing role supports a high-acuity environment by operating ECMO (extracorporeal membrane oxygenation) systems during critical life-support interventions. You will be part of a high-performing clinical team responsible for rapid response scenarios involving infants and children.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver care aligned with the unique needs of pediatric patients.
  • Manage and operate ECMO systems in emergent and planned scenarios.
  • Coordinate care planning with interdisciplinary teams.
  • Support patient transitions through discharge and transfer planning.
  • Uphold clinical standards, safety protocols, and compliance with Texas Board of Nursing guidelines.
  • Mentor and support less experienced staff while promoting a learning environment.
  • Participate in simulations and continual skills development.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
  • Active RN license (Texas or compact state)
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • Minimum of 2 years ECMO Specialist experience
  • Prior experience in a pediatric or NICU setting
  • Strong communication and critical thinking skills
