Recognized for speed, responsiveness, and reliability during emergency and turnaround situations, our client is seeking a proactive and technically skilled Outside Sales Representative to strengthen their position as the go-to partner when critical equipment fails. Based in the Texas Gulf Coast, this role is ideal for someone with a strong background in static chemical processing or oil and gas equipment and the ability to work closely with plant maintenance teams to deliver fast, effective aftermarket solutions including equipment repair, field welding, and part replacement.
Reporting to the General Manager, the Outside Sales Representative will build meaningful, long-term relationships with key maintenance decision-makers across chemical plants, refineries, and EPC firms. They will identify opportunities for new builds, corrosion-related equipment replacements, and urgent turnaround services across Texas and throughout the Gulf Coast. What you'll do:
- Travel regularly throughout the Texas Gulf Coast region to build and maintain relationships with plant maintenance teams and project stakeholders.
- Promote the company’s specialized capabilities in reactive and corrosion-resistant alloys such as Tantalum, Titanium, Zirconium, and Hastelloy® for aftermarket field services and new builds.
- Positioned our client as the go-to solution for fast-turnaround, emergency maintenance and repair services by monitoring plant shutdown schedules and maintenance cycles.
- Review customer engineering drawings to support build-to-specification proposals.
- Contribute to trade shows, technical seminars, and training events while staying on top of competitor trends and territory activity.
What you bring:
- Strong customer relationship building skills grounded in trust and credibility.
- 5+ years of success in technical sales or business development within chemical process equipment, oil & gas services, or industrial manufacturing environments.
- Familiarity with Texas & Louisiana Gulf Coast-based facilities and a strong professional network in the region.
- Working knowledge of reactive and corrosion-resistant metals used in process environments, including Tantalum, Titanium, Zirconium, and high-nickel alloys like Hastelloy®.
- Knowledge of process equipment such as pressure vessels, heat exchangers, pumps, piping systems, etc.
- Mechanical aptitude and comfort reading specs and interpreting engineering drawings.
- A strong closer mentality, willing to get in front of customers, address concerns in real time, and advance opportunities through direct engagement.
- Strong communication, time management, and relationship-building skills.
- Willingness to travel frequently throughout the Gulf Coast.
