🩺 About the Role

Lions & Bears Staffing Partners is seeking a Mid-Level Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (AGACNP) for a full-time night shift role in the Heart Failure ICU at a major academic medical center inΒ Houston, TX.

This is a unique opportunity to care for critically ill cardiac patients, including those requiring ECMO, LVADs, heart/lung transplant, and mechanical circulatory support (MCS). The ideal candidate brings a strong foundation in critical care nursing and a passion for complex cardiac care.

πŸ’Ό Key Responsibilities

  • Assess, diagnose, and manage high-acuity cardiac patients in a 24/7 ICU setting

  • Perform clinical procedures within the NP scope of practice

  • Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and surgical teams for integrated care

  • Manage patients with advanced devices: LVADs, ECMO, transplants, and MCS

  • Deliver structured care with consistent communication and accurate documentation

  • Participate in interdisciplinary rounds and night coverage across heart failure service lines

βœ… Must-Have Qualifications

  • Current Texas license to practice as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse

  • AGACNP certification (Adult Geriatric Acute Care Nurse Practitioner)

  • National certification (ANCC, AANP, AACN) in Acute Care

  • BLS and ACLS certifications (active)

  • 2+ years of RN or NP experience in cardiovascular ICU or critical care settings

  • Minimum age: 18
