Lions & Bears Staffing Partners is seeking a Mid-Level Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (AGACNP) for a full-time night shift role in the Heart Failure ICU at a major academic medical center inΒ Houston, TX.
This is a unique opportunity to care for critically ill cardiac patients, including those requiring ECMO, LVADs, heart/lung transplant, and mechanical circulatory support (MCS). The ideal candidate brings a strong foundation in critical care nursing and a passion for complex cardiac care.
Assess, diagnose, and manage high-acuity cardiac patients in a 24/7 ICU setting
Perform clinical procedures within the NP scope of practice
Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and surgical teams for integrated care
Manage patients with advanced devices: LVADs, ECMO, transplants, and MCS
Deliver structured care with consistent communication and accurate documentation
Participate in interdisciplinary rounds and night coverage across heart failure service lines
Current Texas license to practice as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse
AGACNP certification (Adult Geriatric Acute Care Nurse Practitioner)
National certification (ANCC, AANP, AACN) in Acute Care
BLS and ACLS certifications (active)
2+ years of RN or NP experience in cardiovascular ICU or critical care settings
Minimum age: 18
Experience with heart failure populations, LVADs, ECMO, transplant, or post-cardiac surgery
Prior ICU RN experience highly valued
