OPPORTUNITY

AlpHa Measurement Solutions is experiencing aggressive growth through New Product Introductions and recognizes a need to strengthen its manufacturing processes, systems, and time to market capabilities to meet increased demand and support continued growth. We have an immediate need for a Manufacturing Engineer to join our Houston-based team who will engage directly with Manufacturing, Quality Assurance, Product Engineering, and other cross functional departments including the senior leadership team of AlpHa Measurement Solutions.

Our privately held company has over 100 years of liquid sensing experience, is growing, and currently employs 230 team members in Houston Texas and 115 in Shanghai China. Our global headquarters is conveniently located in Houston at the southwest intersection of I-69 and Sam Houston Tollway, just north of Sugar Land.

POSITION SUMMARY

The Manufacturing Engineer plays a key supporting role in driving process improvements, ensuring production efficiency, and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives. This entry-level position is ideal for recent graduates or early-career professionals seeking hands-on experience in a dynamic manufacturing environment.

Working under the guidance of senior engineers and cross-functional teams, the Manufacturing Engineer assists in evaluating and improving manufacturing processes, creating process documentation, and supporting New Product Introduction (NPI) efforts. This position provides an excellent opportunity to gain experience with Lean Manufacturing principles, production analysis, and cross-department collaboration.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist in identifying areas for process improvement by collecting and analyzing production data related to throughput, efficiency, and quality.
  • Support the creation and maintenance of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Work Instructions (WIs), and other process documentation.
  • Participate in Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement activities such as 5S, value stream mapping, and kaizen events.
  • Help update production layouts and workflows to enhance material flow and floor space utilization.
  • Collaborate with Engineering, Quality, and Production teams to support the successful execution of New Product Introduction (NPI) deliverables.
  • Assist in the setup and maintenance of routings, labor standards, and bills of materials (BOMs) in the ERP system.
  • Participate in internal audits and help ensure compliance with Quality Management System (QMS) standards.
  • Work on assigned projects to improve safety, reduce waste, and enhance operational efficiency.
  • Engage in team-based problem-solving sessions and support corrective action initiatives.

Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

Bachelor’s degree in Industrial, Manufacturing, Mechanical, Electronic Engineering, or a related technology field.

0–3 years of experience in a manufacturing or production environment (internships, co-ops, or capstone projects preferred).

Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing concepts or Six Sigma methodologies (academic or practical exposure).

Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.

Effective written and verbal communication abilities.

Willingness to learn and engage in hands-on work on the production floor.

Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.

Experience with ERP systems (such as SAP, Oracle, or ALERE) is a plus but not required.

Self-motivated with a collaborative mindset and attention to detail.

Salary Description
$55k to $65k depending upon experience
