Job Description:

Responsibilities:

  • Support the implementation of safety protocols and ensure compliance with all safety regulations
  • Conduct routine Preventive Maintenance and inspection of manufacturing equipment to ensure optimal performance and prevent breakdowns.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot Mechanical, Electrical and Pneumatic issues with machinery.
  • Ability to read electrical, mechanical and pneumatics schematics.
  • Ability to troubleshoot equipment issues using PLC ladder logic
  • Perform repairs and replacement of faulty components to keep machine operating efficiently.
  • Assist in the installation and commissioning of new equipment.
  • Identify and take ownership of improvement opportunities
  • Participate in Continuous Improvement initiatives to enhance equipment reliability and efficiency.
  • Must be able to document work requests and work orders for machines and equipment using computer maintenance management system (CMMS)
  • Must be able to Utilize electrical measuring instruments to solve electrical issues.
  • Possess the knowledge and understanding of Industrial electrical wiring and 3 phase systems.
  • Possess the knowledge and understanding of process controls.
  • Knowledgeable of AC and DC motors, controls, and drive systems
  • Understands PLC process controls.
  • Maintain chilled water system.
  • Maintain plant air supply system.
  • Record and maintain spare part usage
  • Knowledgeable in operating machine shop equipment:

* Milling machines, Lathes, Welding

* Surface Grinders

* Drill press

* Band saw

Position Requirements:

Formal Education & Certification

  • High School Diploma or GED required. Technical or vocational training in maintenance-related fields is preferred.
  • Proven experience as a Maintenance Technician in a manufacturing or industrial setting
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic systems
  • Proficient in reading technical manuals, schematics, and diagrams
  • Experience with PLCs, VFD’s, HMI’s and other manufacturing control systems
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills to prioritize tasks efficiently
  • Possess problem solving skills and abilities to work well under pressure

Knowledge & Experience

  • Knowledge of Extrusion Molding machines, automation, or similar processes is preferred
  • 5 years of industrial manufacturing experience
  • Must be highly motivated and able to work independently
  • Experience in troubleshooting and repairing mechanical and electrical systems
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to effectively handle pressure and challenges
  • The capability to take proactive steps in managing problems

Physical Requirements

  • Lift and carry 50 pounds
  • Bend, turn and lift while performing the job
  • Climb stairs
  • Work on aerial platform lifts at heights of 20 feet
  • Stand for 8 hours, with appropriate break-times
  • Ability to work around hot machinery

Safety

  • Possess the knowledge of lock out, tag out (LOTO)

  • Use the correct personal protected equipment (PPE) while performing maintenance tasks
  • Participate in safety training programs and follow safe work practices at all times
  • Report any safety concerns or incidents promptly by filling out safety catch forms and turn in to supervisor
  • Understands and practices all safety/hygiene and GMP rules
  • Leads by example and ensures compliance to AIB and SQF rules
  • Maintains clean and orderly workplace/equipment
