SUMMARY OF POSITION AND RESPONSIBILITY: The Waterjet Operator at Allied Stone plays, ensures precision, efficiency, and quality in our stone fabrication process. They operate and oversee Waterjet machinery for countertop fabrication, interpreting technical drawings, optimizing machine setup, conducting maintenance, troubleshooting, and ensuring compliance with safety protocols.

  • Operate and monitor Waterjet machines for precise cutting and shaping of granite or marble.
  • Perform setup, calibration, and programming of Waterjet machines.
  • Collaborate with teams to achieve custom designs and ensure precision.
  • Coordinate with design teams and fabricators for project execution.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve machine issues to maintain production efficiency.
  • Inspect and refine cut surfaces to meet quality standards.

Knowledge: 

  • Proficiency in operating and maintaining manufacturing machinery.
  • Understanding of technical drawings and specifications related to stone fabrication.

Skills: 

  • Attention to detail and precision in work.
  • Troubleshooting skills for machine issues.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Abilities: 

  • Ability to adhere to safety protocols and regulations.
  • Ability to lift and move heavy stone materials.
  • Ability to work in a dynamic manufacturing environment.

QUALIFICATIONS (EDUCATION, CERTIFICATIONS AND/OR TRAINING): 

Required Education: 

  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED).

Preferred Education: 

  • Completion of trade or technical school in machine operation or a related field.

Required Experience: 

  • Proven experience as a machine operator, preferably in stone fabrication or similar manufacturing.

Preferred Experience: 

  • Previous experience in stone manufacturing.

Work Environment: The work environment in a stone countertop manufacturing facility involves: 

  • Exposure to dust and debris generated during the fabrication process.
  • Noise levels are typical of industrial machinery.
  • Varied weather conditions if the facility is partially open or exposed to outdoor elements.
  • Use of personal protective equipment such as safety glasses, hearing protection, and steel-toed boots.

Physical Demands: Working in a stone countertop manufacturing facility requires: 

  • Ability to lift and move heavy stone materials, sometimes weighing up to [specify weight].
  • Stamina to stand for extended periods and perform physically demanding tasks.
  • Dexterity and precision for operating machinery and handling stone products.
