OPPORTUNITY | Paralegal
Our Houston office seeks a well-rounded, highly-motivated, experienced Litigation Paralegal to support its litigation defense practice. Must possess at least three years’ experience in defense litigation (personal injury and/or premises liability). This is an exceptional opportunity to handle a variety of litigation support responsibilities including all aspects of the discovery process with a forward-thinking firm, in an expanding office.

SKILLS and ABILITIES
 The following are representative of the knowledge, skill or ability that the candidate must possess or demonstrate to succeed under the direction of the partner(s):
· possess Paralegal Certificate;
· proven knowledge of electronic filing requirements at state courts in Texas;
  · excellent research and writing skills;
  · work proactively, independently and as part of a team;
  · organize, prioritize and implement daily tasks with strong attention to detail;
  · provide excellent written and verbal communication;
  · remain self-directed, self-motivated and effectively work under tight time constraints;
  · ability to consistently create and deliver quality work products;
  · demonstrate proficiency with MS Office including Word, Outlook, PowerPoint

 · demonstrated efficiency navigating the internet; and,
  · iManage experience a plus.

RESPONSIBILITIES
 · Maintain and organize high volume of case related documents, including but not limited to, large document productions by multiple parties;
 · Manage multiple projects with competing deadlines in a busy legal environment;
 · Draft and respond to deposition notices and discovery requests, including, but not limited to, interrogatories, request for production, request for disclosure, request for admission, and deposition notices, etc.;
 · Ability to locate and reference specific documents quickly (e.g. trial exhibits, deposition transcripts, key discovery responses, case correspondence and communications);
  · Support assigned attorney defense litigation practice ( i.e. phone conferences, meetings, case deadlines, hearing and trial dates, mediations and depositions, as well as scheduling orders and moving docket forward);
  · Document, organize and assist with preparation for trials and arbitrations hearings;
  · Save, file and organize pleadings, motions and related e-filed or emailed documented dates on a daily basis;
  · Enter billing time on a daily basis; and
  · Maintain professional demeanor and a positive attitude with colleagues, clients, co-counsel and court personnel.
