Location: This is an in-office role based in either our Houston or Austin office, with potential hybrid flexibility after one year for employees in good standing.

Note: Prior legal assistant experience is required. HOA, collections, litigation, real estate litigation, construction defect, or civil litigation experience is strongly preferred.

Job Description

  • Provide direct legal and administrative support to attorneys handling HOA, real estate, collections, construction defect, and civil litigation matters
  • Draft, format, proofread, and file pleadings, motions, discovery, notices, correspondence, and other legal documents
  • Manage court filings, including e-filing in Texas courts
  • Maintain case files, organize documents, and track deadlines
  • Calendar hearings, mediations, depositions, inspections, discovery deadlines, and trial-related dates
  • Assist with discovery, document production, and case preparation
  • Communicate professionally with clients, courts, opposing counsel, vendors, experts, and internal team members
  • Help attorneys keep matters organized, moving forward, and client-ready
  • Support a busy litigation practice with attention to detail, urgency, and professionalism

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of legal assistant experience preferred
  • Experience in HOA, collections, real estate litigation, construction defect, civil litigation, or related legal work preferred
  • Strong understanding of litigation procedures, deadlines, and legal document formatting
  • Experience with e-filing and legal calendaring
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and legal case management systems
  • Reliable, detail-oriented, proactive, and able to work well in a team environment
