ARM Energy is seeking qualified candidates for an IT Server Administrator based out of our Houston office.  

 

Position Overview:

ARM Energy is seeking a highly skilled IT Server Administrator with a minimum of 7 years of experience supporting and managing enterprise infrastructure in a fast-paced trading floor environment. This role requires broad technical expertise spanning virtualization, cloud administration, networking, and backup systems, with the flexibility to assist with end-user support when needed. As part of a small team, the ideal person would enjoy wearing many hats and getting to experience the full range of IT support.

 

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Manage and maintain Nutanix virtualization clusters, including performance monitoring, upgrades, and troubleshooting.
  • Administer and optimize cloud resources within Microsoft Azure, including virtual machines, storage, and networking components.
  • Manage Entra ID user accounts, group policies, and permissions.
  • Oversee backup and disaster recovery systems, ensuring data integrity and recoverability.
  • Support and maintain Meraki networking infrastructure, including firewalls, switches, and access points.
  • Administer Office 365 environment—Exchange Online, SharePoint, Teams, and OneDrive—for the full user base.
  • Provide ETRM system support coordination with trading and operations teams.
  • Assist the helpdesk team during high-demand periods by troubleshooting user issues on Windows 11, Office 365 applications, and trading floor hardware.
  • Perform scheduled maintenance, system updates, and after-hours emergency support as needed.

 



Qualifications

Requirements:

  • 7+ years of experience in IT systems administration, preferably in an energy trading or financial environment.
  • Strong knowledge of Nutanix, Microsoft Azure, and Entra ID administration.
  • Experience with enterprise backup solutions (e.g., Veeam, Rubrik, or similar).
  • Proficiency with Cisco Meraki networking.
  • Skilled in Office 365 administration and endpoint management.
  • Working knowledge of ETRM platforms and their integration with IT systems.
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills across Windows environments.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to function under pressure in a time-sensitive trading environment.

 

Additional Information:

  • This position is onsite in a trading floor environment.
  • After-hours work may be required for critical updates or outages (no fixed on-call rotation).
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States.
