OPPORTUNITY

AlpHa Measurement Solutions is experiencing aggressive growth through a global platform consolidation and recognizes a need to strengthen its Sales & Marketing capabilities to meet increased demand and support continued growth. We have an immediate need for an Inside Sales Representative to join our Houston-based team. 

Our privately held company has over 100 years of liquid sensing experience, is growing, and currently employs 220 team members in Houston Texas and 140 in Shanghai China. We need a high-performing, results driven, and competitive Inside Sales Representative who wants to be a part of a growing team, who is self-motivated to advance the company’s goals, and who can take the Sales Team to the next level.

Our global headquarters is conveniently located in Houston at the southwest intersection of I-69 and Sam Houston Tollway, just north of Sugar Land.

This individual will report to the Sales Operations Manager.

Classification?: Salaried/Exempt, Full-Time, Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, and as required to maintain business momentum.

POSITION SUMMARY

The Inside Sales Representative is responsible for generating new business and maintaining existing customer relationships through phone, email, and virtual communications. This role focuses on understanding customer needs, presenting appropriate products or services, and closing sales to meet or exceed targets while coordinating daily communications with assigned customer base by phone and email, receive, acknowledge and enter customer purchase orders, receive and communicate order status, price requests, expedites and other requests from customers. The Inside Sales Representative works closely with the supply chain, production, sales and other departments as needed to ensure seamless customer experience. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify, manage, and cultivate new leads through various channels including cold calling, emails, web inquiries, and tradeshow leads.
  • Convert leads to qualified prospects and maintain relationships to increase long-term sales while owning the account if grown to T3 and above.
  • Initiate outbound sales efforts to connect with potential customers, assess their needs, and offer tailored solutions through the PPAP process for both existing product changes and newly released products.
  • Proactively engage with prospective and existing customers via phone, email, and virtual meetings.
  • Provide basic technical support to customers by assisting with product-related questions, troubleshooting issues, and guiding them through the proper usage and maintenance of products.
  • Resolve technical issues by identifying the root cause and offering solutions that meet customer needs.
  • Communicate effectively with customers to explain technical concepts in a clear and easy-to-understand manner.
  • Work closely with the engineering department for more complex issues and escalating cases as needed.
  • Utilize Power BI, CRM, and ERP system to manage and document steps throughout the sales process.
  • Communication with global customers: answer questions regarding technical applications, new or existing purchase orders, quotations, and price negotiations.
  • Receive, acknowledge, and manage purchase order(s) while following internal communication protocols to alert departments of new orders.
  • Leverage EDI system to process, accept, and reject purchase orders.
  • Receive requests and collaborate with other departments for expediting shipments, product returns, and technical support.
  • Document customer communications in CRM system.
  • Ensure CRM and ERP data accuracy for forecasting.

Requirements

Qualifications and Experience

Four-year college degree from an accredited institution in a Science, Engineering, or Business curriculum.

Proven experience and success in inside sales, lead generation, or customer service.

Demonstrated ability to identify, qualify, and nurture sales leads through outbound efforts.

Familiarity with analytical instrumentation or water quality sensors is preferred.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Strong listening and presentation skills.

Highly proficient in MS 365 (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Power BI, etc.).

Experience with ERP systems and practices (order entry, order status tracking, etc).

Experience with CRM systems and practices (customer setup, sales process, reporting).

Ability to multi-task, prioritize and manage time effectively.

Salary Description
$60,000.00 Annually
