Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced Heart Failure ICU Nurse Practitioner to join a dynamic critical care team. This is a fulltime night position, reporting inperson to a hospital facility in Houston, Texas. There is no travel requirement.
You will provide comprehensive patient care including assessment, diagnosis, treatment, management, and inhospital followup in accordance with relevant nurse practice regulations and clinical standards. Patient populations include advanced heart failure workups, mechanical circulatory support, transplant care (heart and lung), postoperative cardiac surgery, and related highacuity diagnoses.

Responsibilities & Highlights

  • Work scheduled 12hour night shifts; rotating weekends & holidays; no oncall requirement
  • Paid for a standard 40hour workweek
  • Participate in a credentialing process (approx. 23 months)
  • Utilize and maintain proficiency in specialized support devices related to heart failure and ICU care

Required Qualifications

  • Adult Geriatric Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (AGACNP) certification
  • Current license to practice nursing in Texas
  • Specialty certification (e.g., via ANCC, NCC, AANP, or ACCN) appropriate for acute care or critical care NP role
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) credentials
  • Minimum of 2 years clinical experience (as RN or NP) in cardiology / cardiac care / cardiovascular nursing, or equivalent critical care experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience with heart failure patient population
  • Acute Care NP experience in ICU settings
  • RN experience in cardiovascular or heart failure ICU care
