Job Summary:
The Food Manufacturing Prep Kitchen Employee is responsible for preparing ingredients and
materials used in large-scale food production. This role ensures all food items are measured,
mixed, and prepared according to recipes and quality standards while maintaining strict food
safety, sanitation, and operational efficiency within the production kitchen.
Key Responsibilities:
Food Preparation:
- Weigh, measure, and portion ingredients according to production specifications and recipes.
- Wash, peel, chop, and process ingredients as required for production batches.
- Assist with cooking, blending, or mixing processes as needed.
Production Support:
- Supply prepared ingredients to production lines to maintain steady workflow.
- Label and store prepped materials properly to prevent contamination or spoilage.
- Assist in assembling and packaging finished products when required.
Quality & Safety Compliance:
- Follow all Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), HACCP, and company food safety standards.
- Ensure all ingredients meet quality and freshness standards before use.
- Maintain clean and sanitized work areas, utensils, and equipment at all times.
Equipment Operation:
- Operate basic kitchen and food processing equipment (mixers, slicers, kettles, etc.) safely and efficiently.
- Report equipment malfunctions or maintenance needs promptly.
Recordkeeping:
- Accurately record ingredient usage, batch numbers, and production data as required.
- Follow labeling and traceability procedures for all raw and prepped materials.
Team Collaboration:
- Work closely with production operators, quality assurance, and warehouse staff to ensure smooth production flow.
- Assist in training new employees or temporary staff as directed.
Qualifications:
Education: High school diploma or equivalent (GED) required.
Experience: 1β2 years of experience in food preparation, food manufacturing, or commercial kitchen environment preferred.
Skills:
- Basic math and measurement skills.
- Ability to follow recipes and written instructions accurately.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to food safety.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand for long periods and lift/move up to 50 lbs.
- Comfortable working in temperature-controlled environments (cold, hot, or humid areas).
- Manual dexterity to handle food products and operate kitchen tools and equipment.
