Essential Job Functions:
Under general supervision, writes new and renewal workers’ compensation insurance policies to meet company written premium goals by:
Evaluating applications, reports, information, and coverage requests and applying departmental and regulatory guidelines to determine risk acceptability.
Negotiating account pricing and coverage with agents within a designated level of authority.
Demonstrates proficiency in establishing and maintaining professional agency relations by:
Participating in managing and developing an assigned group of agents through field visits, verbal and written communication, completing service requests, and identifying and pursuing appropriate business opportunities.
Answering questions from agents, policyholders, or prospects regarding accounts and quotes.
Analyzes workload, establishes priorities, and manages work to focus on agents' needs, while meeting or exceeding the company's quality and time service standards for processing.
Required Qualifications:
Have a bachelor’s degree or equivalent education, training, and experience.
Have at least two years of workers’ compensation underwriting experience for an Underwriter II or at least four years of experience for a Senior Underwriter, or equivalent education, training, and experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
CPCU, CIC, ARM, and other recognized industry-related designations.
Ability to prepare, organize, develop, and present professionally to individuals and small groups.
Valid driver's license.
The base pay range is based on the market evaluation of the job and may include pay for multiple levels. Individual base pay within the range is determined by a variety of factors, including experience, performance, education, and demonstration of skills and competencies required for each role. Base Pay Range: $36.12 - $59.38 Per HourTexas Mutual’s flex-hybrid schedule allows you to bring your best self to work by working remotely and collaborating in the office based on business needs. All Texas Mutual employees are required to have Texas residency and travel to their designated office as needed.
