The Staff Nurse at The Covery plays a vital role in delivering exceptional, safe, and client-centered wellness services. This position involves administering IV therapy, wellness injections, and other clinical treatments while supporting overall guest experience in a calm, professional, and health-driven environment. The ideal candidate is personable, efficient, and passionate about holistic health, wellness, and recovery. This role is critical to maintaining the luxury standard and reputation of The Houstonian Hotel, Club & Spa while upholding the highest levels of discretion and professionalism.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Administer IV infusions, vitamin injections, and other medical-grade wellness treatments
- Monitor clients during sessions and ensure safety and comfort throughout their experience
- Review health histories and screen for contraindications before services
- Maintain proper documentation, consent forms, and treatment logs.
- Provide expert guidance and recommendations on treatment options based on client goals and concerns
- Educate clients on wellness services, benefits, post-care instructions, and overall health improvement
- Ensure a welcoming, clean, and serene clinical environment at all times
- Follow strict infection control protocols and standard operating procedures
- Maintain clean treatment areas and handle medical supplies properly
- Adhere to all local, state, and federal regulations and clinical licensing standards
- Collaborate with wellness specialists, front desk staff, and medical leadership to ensure cohesive operations
- Communicate client feedback and concerns clearly to appropriate team members
- Participate in training and team meetings to stay updated on services and procedures
QualificationsKNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
- Strong interpersonal skills and a calm, confident bedside manner
- Passion for wellness, holistic health, and recovery therapy
- Experience in med spa, wellness clinic, or concierge health setting is a plus
- Able to provide luxury-level service to members and guests at all times
- Hours required: Scheduled days and hours vary based on departmental needs. Must be able to work evening or weekends occasionally
LICENSES AND/OR CERTIFICATIONS
- CPR/BLS certification required
- Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or Registered Nurse (RN) with valid state licensure
- IV certification or verifiable IV therapy experience required
PHYSICAL JOB REQUIREMENTS
Must be able to meet the following minimum physical requirements for at least an eight-hour shift:

Physical Stamina: Sit for extended periods of time, see and read a computer screen and printed matter with or without vision aids, enter data into computer, operate standard office equipment, use a telephone, hear and understand at normal levels and on the telephone, speak so that others may understand at normal levels and on the telephone, stoop, reach overhead, grasp, push, pull, move or lift up to 30 lbs. on an occasional basis.

Hearing / Speech: Must be able to effectively engage in one-on-one communication with guests, members, and customers and use a 2-way radio to communicate clearly and accurately with co-workers.

Vision: Must be able to accurately read instructions, reports, and log sheets. Must be able to work with computers and PDAs in varying light conditions.

Literacy: Must be able to produce, read and understand reports, including security, incident and police reports. Must be able to analyze and process written information from a variety of sources and effectively communicate content of reports.

Chemicals/Agents: Must be able to work safely with chemicals according to SDS sheets and all applicable laws, codes and regulatory requirements.
