About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Commercial Construction Scheduler / Planner to join a project controls team supporting a major energy account in Houston, TX. In this role, you will manage and maintain integrated project schedules across multiple construction and facilities projects, ensuring accurate planning, reporting, and on-time project delivery.

You will work closely with project managers, engineers, and construction teams to support scheduling strategy, risk mitigation, and performance tracking across a dynamic portfolio of projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, update, and maintain detailed project schedules on a weekly basis
  • Prepare monthly schedule status reports and performance analysis for internal and client reviews
  • Build and maintain Integrated Master Schedules and work-package-based project schedules
  • Perform critical path analysis, schedule baseline management, and variance tracking
  • Identify schedule risks and work with project teams to develop mitigation strategies
  • Apply scheduling best practices, including logic sequencing, dependencies, constraints, and resource loading
  • Recommend improvements to scheduling processes, tools, and reporting methods
  • Support project coordination activities, including documentation and progress tracking
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and subcontractors to ensure schedule alignment

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent relevant experience
  • Minimum 4+ years of direct project controls or scheduling experience using Primavera P6
  • Hands-on experience with Microsoft Project (MS Project)
  • At least 3 years of experience in facilities maintenance, plant operations, or engineering services
  • Formal training in project scheduling tools and methodologies
  • Strong understanding of project controls, scheduling techniques, and documentation practices
  • Advanced proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Visio, Adobe Acrobat)
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment

Preferred Experience

  • Experience in construction management or large-scale capital projects
  • Exposure to energy, industrial, or facilities-focused project environments
  • Experience supporting both cost and schedule reporting functions
