The Assistant Director of Human Resources oversees the HR department, ensuring effective administration of policies, procedures, and practices. This role serves as the primary point of contact for HR-related matters and drives initiatives that promote fair, consistent, and respectful treatment of associates while supporting organizational goals.
HOW YOU’LL SHAPE THE EXPERIENCE & FUTURE
- Develop, coordinate, and conduct orientation for all new associates in partnership with the Regional HR team.
- Maintain training records and facilitate or conduct training sessions to support departmental and individual development.
- Apply employment law knowledge (FLSA, FMLA, ADA, EEO, OSHA, COBRA, etc.) to ensure compliance, with an understanding of state-specific regulations.
- Partner with leaders to coordinate department meetings, improve processes, and implement decision-making tools.
- Maintain accurate and confidential associate files, including compensation, benefits, and performance records.
- Act as key recruitment contact by developing community relationships, coordinating the interview process, and managing assessments, pre-employment screenings, and job offers.
- Support retention efforts by working closely with managers to build engagement and address associate needs.
- For union properties, oversee the Collective Bargaining Agreement and grievance processes.
- Facilitate associate benefits administration, including enrollment, audits, and communication of options.
- Serve as contact for workers’ compensation claims, ensuring timely reporting, medical coordination, OSHA log maintenance, and safety participation.
- Oversee payroll processing, ensuring timely and accurate input of employment data, pay rates, deductions, and withholdings.
- Other duties as assigned.

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
- Minimum of 4 years of HR experience required.
- Experience with FLSA, Title VII issues, payroll administration, and associate relations.
ACADEMIC BACKGROUND
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management or related field required.
- SHRM Certification preferred.
