Job Purpose:

The Accountant II will play a critical role in supporting month-end close process and maintaining the integrity of the general ledger. Reporting directly to the Assistant Accounting Manager, this role is responsible for preparing journal entries, reconciling accounts, and ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and eager to grow within a dynamic finance environment.

 

Key Job Responsibilities:

         Preparation and posting of journal entries, including accruals, prepayments, amortizations, and reclassifications

         Maintain and update prepayment and accrual schedules

         Perform monthly reconciliations of assigned general ledger accounts to ensure accuracy and completeness

         Record intercompany recharges for G&A expenses and ensure monthly intercompany balances are aligned

         Prepare monthly allocation entries across departments or cost centers

         Assist with the calculation and posting of rebate accruals

         Calculate allowance for bad debts and post the corresponding journal entries

         Preparation of schedules and timely sales tax payments

         Document accounting processes and procedures

         Support internal and external audits by preparing schedules, reconciliations, and documentation

         Collaborate with other finance team members to improve processes and support cross-functional initiatives

 

Requirements:

         Accounting degree or certificate strongly preferred

         4-5 years of relevant accounting experience, preferably in general ledger or corporate accounting

         Solid understanding of accounting principles (GAAP or IFRS)

         Proven experience in journal entry preparation, account reconciliations, and month-end close

         Proficient in Microsoft Excel (e.g., pivot tables, VLOOKUP, and formulas)

         Experience with ERP/accounting systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, or similar)

         High attention to detail and accuracy

         Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

         Adaptable and able to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
