Job Purpose:
The Junior Accountant will play a key role in supporting the month-end close process and maintaining the integrity of the general ledger. Reporting directly to the Accountant – General Ledger, this role is responsible for preparing journal entries, reconciling accounts, and ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and eager to grow within a dynamic finance environment.
Key Job Responsibilities:
· Assist with the preparation and posting of journal entries, including accruals, prepayments, amortizations, and reclassifications
· Maintain and update prepayment and accrual schedules
· Perform monthly reconciliations of assigned general ledger accounts to ensure accuracy and completeness
· Record intercompany recharges for G&A expenses and ensure monthly intercompany balances are aligned
· Prepare monthly allocation entries across departments or cost centers
· Assist with the calculation and posting of rebate accruals
· Calculate allowance for bad debts and post the corresponding journal entries
· Support internal and external audits by preparing schedules, reconciliations, and documentation
· Collaborate with other finance team members to improve processes and support cross-functional initiatives
Requirements:
· Accounting degree or certificate strongly preferred
· 2–3 years of relevant accounting experience, preferably in general ledger or corporate accounting
· Solid understanding of accounting principles (GAAP or IFRS)
· Proven experience in journal entry preparation, account reconciliations, and month-end close
· Proficient in Microsoft Excel (e.g., pivot tables, VLOOKUP, and formulas)
· Experience with ERP/accounting systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, or similar)
· High attention to detail and accuracy
· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
· Adaptable and able to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
