Job Summary:
Lead all processes involved in the receipt and/or shipping of material to ensure items being stowed or shipped to meet customer requirements
Essential Job Functions:
- Prepares shipments for postal or commercial conveyance; determines most economical and efficient shipping method; selects appropriate shipping container; packs items to ensure safe delivery
- Prepares bills of lading and Input roll data into computer for inventory control
- Receives and unloads incoming materials and verify accuracy of packing slip and corresponding purchase order
- Sorts, counts, packages, labels, unpacks, and/or logs inventory which is shipped or received
- Inspects shipments for damages or defects; records discrepancies or damages and notifies supervisor and/or purchasing personnel
- Traces lost shipments and/or customer claims of lost shipments; initiates proof of delivery documents
- Maintain department database, prepare routine reports, and file shipping/receiving records
- Operate dolly, pallet jack, and/or forklift in loading and unloading supplies and equipment; may operate shrink wrap machine
- Is responsible for taking care of routine machine maintenance and keeping work area in neat condition
- Follows established departmental policies, procedures, and objectives, continuous quality improvement objectives, and safety, environmental, and/or infection control standards
- Leads, guides, and trains employees performing related work
- Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned such as pumping resin from rails to silos, coordinate repairs on all assigned vehicles
Job Qualifications:
Requires a valid Valeron Strength Films Lift Truck license
Job Requirements:
- Sufficient reading and writing ability to follow work order instructions and very merchandise received to correspond with purchase order
- Basic math skills, ability to calculate truck-loading configurations and record film information such as mil, size, and width of material
- Basic computer skills
- Must be able to learn to learn how to operate industrial machines such as forklift, wrap machine
- Must be able to work in a team environment
- Must be able to anticipate, evaluate, and consider the consequences of various actions.
- Sufficient visual acuity to read instructions, drive forklift and input data into computer
- Recognize sounds of moving equipment and machinery for safety purposes. Work with constant noise at a level requiring the use of earplugs
- Demonstrate good job attendance and punctuality
- Prior industrial manufacturing experience preferred
Work Conditions:
- Environmental Conditions: (Dust, fumes, heat, cold, noise, vibration, toxic conditions, work hazards, etc.) Controlled environment, noise from refrigeration equipment, etc. – Activity: Work is performed in doors on concrete floors involving extreme temperatures. Requires safety shoes, ear plugs, and safety glasses. Must be able to occasionally climb stairs, may work elevations of more than 60 feet. Work in high noise levels that requires ear plugs. Must be physically able to exert up to 120 pounds of push force and up to 160 pounds of pull force.
- Must be willing to work Monday to Friday
- Must be willing to perform job functions following set safety procedures.

Compensation Information:
$20.00 - $24.00
