DescriptionTexas Children’s Hospital is seeking an experienced, visionary Vice President of Strategic Human Resources Business Partners to join our Human Resources executive team. This critical leadership role oversees the HR Business Partner (HRBP) function, driving alignment between people strategies and the hospital's mission to deliver world-class care, groundbreaking research, and excellence in education and community service.
As a trusted advisor to senior executives, the VP will lead a team of HR Business Partners serving both clinical and non-clinical areas across a complex pediatric healthcare system. This leader will foster organizational effectiveness, guide workforce planning, enable transformational change, and ensure talent strategy is aligned with the hospital’s evolving needs and core values of Humility, Excellence, Accountability, Respect, and Trust.

Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership
- Design and execute a long-term HRBP strategy aligned with the hospital’s strategic plan.
- Serve as senior advisor to leadership on organizational design, culture, and workforce transformation.
- Partner with the CHRO to implement system-wide HR initiatives that improve performance and outcomes.
- Drive initiatives to enhance agility, workforce capability, and organizational alignment.
HR Business Partnership
- Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing team of HR Business Partners.
- Promote a consultative, strategic HRBP model across all departments.
- Collaborate with clinical and administrative leaders on workforce planning and talent strategy.
- Champion proactive, data-informed HR consultation aligned to enterprise priorities.
Organizational Performance & Excellence
- Support leadership development and succession planning across the hospital.
- Guide change management efforts tied to new care models and technology.
- Build HRBP capabilities in talent assessment and organizational effectiveness.
Workforce Planning
- Use data analytics to forecast talent needs, reduce turnover, and support critical hiring initiatives.
- Translate trends and workforce insights into action plans for leadership.
- Enhance retention in hard-to-fill clinical areas through targeted HR strategies.
Operational Excellence
- Ensure scalable, compliant, and value-aligned HRBP service delivery.
- Align HRBP KPIs to quality, safety, patient experience, and engagement metrics.
- Foster a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and results-driven performance.
Shared Accountabilities
- Complete performance appraisals and onboarding for direct reports.
- Oversee budget preparation and manage financial performance.
- Ensure compliance with The Joint Commission and accreditation standards.
- Collaborate with department leaders on performance planning and goal setting.
- Lead and support investigations and complaint resolution processes.
Qualifications
- Required: Bachelor’s Degree
- Preferred: Master’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, Organizational Development, or related field
- Experience
- Minimum 10 years of progressive HR leadership, preferably in a large healthcare or academic medical center environment
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Proven success in leading strategic HRBP teams and advising senior leadership
- Expertise in organizational development, change management, and talent strategy
- Strong communication, relationship-building, and influence skills
- Ability to lead in a matrixed, fast-paced healthcare setting
- Proficiency in HRIS systems, data analytics, and performance metrics

- Occasional travel between campuses and community sites required
