POSITION SUMMARY: 
The Technical Writer is responsible for developing, maintaining, and ensuring the accuracy of part requirements within the Quality Management System (QMS). This includes reviewing customer purchase orders, specifications, and drawings to establish appropriate mechanical testing, heat treatment, and inspection requirements for each part number. The role also oversees the management and internal review workflow of customer and industry specifications.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
•    Conduct comprehensive reviews of customer purchase orders, drawings, and specifications to translate requirements into internal metallurgical instructions.
•    Prepare Metallurgical Process Instructions and Metallurgical Test Requirements within the Oracle system.
•    Review, distribute, and maintain customer specifications to ensure current versions are in use across the organization.
•    Interact with customers and internal cross-functional departments to clarify requirements and support execution.
•    Support the Certification team by compiling, reviewing, and issuing certifications, including weekend support when necessary.

KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:
•    Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word).
•    Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
•    Experience with Oracle ERP (strongly preferred).
•    Familiarity with CAD design software (preferred).
•    Ability to interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
•    Highly organized, detail-oriented, and self-motivated.

EDUCATION:

•    Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.

EXPERIENCE:

•    3-5 years equivalent experience recommended.

Experience with Oracle ERP (strongly preferred).
•    Familiarity with CAD design software (preferred).

WORK CONDITIONS: 
Office position with occasional time on the shop floor    

TRAVEL:
No travel required    

HOURS: 7:30am-4:30pm Monday thru Friday, some overtime and weekends may be required.
