Our Construction Products segment provides products that are used in various construction projects and applications, including infrastructure, residential, non-residential, and specialty/other end markets. As the United States continues to experience population growth and replace its aging infrastructure, we believe our businesses are well-positioned to benefit from this activity. Additionally, our products are used in a variety of other markets, including certain agricultural and energy markets.
What You’ll Do:
- Rotate through business units for exposure to People Operations, Safety, Environmental, Credit/Collections, Accounting, and Production.
- Perform data entry as needed to assist in daily functions of business unit.
- Assist business unit with various projects by preparing materials, tools, and equipment.
- Follow instructions and make adjustments as directed by the assigned manager or supervisor.
- Comply with health and safety regulations when operating equipment, while onsite, and when not on active duty.
- Maintain a productive pace to complete all assigned tasks within time constraints.
- Provide assistance to other team members on various tasks if assigned duties are completed ahead of schedule.
- Wear assigned personal protective equipment (PPE) such as ear plugs, safety glasses, gloves, helmets, and boots at all times when on job site.
What You’ll Need:
- Pursing a bachelor’s degree in Construction Science or Construction Management or related field from an accredited college or university.
- Ability to complete a minimum of 40 hours per week for the duration of the internship.
- Strict compliance with use of personal protective equipment (PPE) in plant environment. (PPE will be provided, with the exception of steel toe boots).
- Ability to demonstrate higher order thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Possesses a positive attitude and thrives in a team environment.
- Possesses the ability to complete self-directed work as well as contribute in a collaborative capacity.
- Effective Oral and written communication skills.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to work in all weather conditions
- Ability to climb heights of 15 feet on a regular basis
- Ability to lift, carry, and/or pull 50 pounds on a regular basis
- Able to stand for prolonged periods of time
- Ability to work in dusty, loud noise environment
- Required to wear safety equipment including hard hat, safety glasses, goggles, steel toed boots, ear plugs, respirator, gloves and various other similar items as required.
