Job Details:

The Staff Accountant II position involves high volume, complex transaction processing. This can include invoices, bank transactions, or refunds processing. This position may also be involved in reviewing the work of others or making recommendations for improvements. The workflow surrounding this position is a fast paced environment with emphasis on accuracy and timeliness. 

 

Essential Responsibilities 

  • Maintain financial records and ensure that financial transactions are properly recorded 

  • Actively monitor tickets submitted by stores/warehouses, investigate issues, and perform the necessary inventory entries, including reclassifications, inventory adjustments, and posting of counting journals 

  • Prepare and book various month-end journal entries related to inventory, including inventory accruals, reclassifications, and other required adjustments 

  • Perform detailed inventory-related analyses as part of the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes, ensuring accuracy, identifying variances, and supporting overall financial reporting requirements 

  • Ensure the accuracy of entries to ledger accounts and reconcile subsidiary ledger accounts to the general ledger 

  • Ability to handle confidential information in a discreet, professional manner 

  • Review work of others to ensure completeness and accuracy ahead of manager 

  • Resolve and research accounting questions for both internal and external customers 

  • Complete all required training modules and certifications prior to the due date 

  • Ensure all safety policies and procedures are followed to ensure a safe work environment for all 

  • Communicate professionally with all internal and external contacts 

  • Follow all Company policies and execute Company standards on appearance and functionality as well as appropriate brand representation 

  • Communicate any concerns or issues to leadership to ensure proper efficiency of department and company operations 

 

Non-Essential Responsibilities 

  • Complete other projects and special assignments as requested by Supervisor and/or Senior Management 

  • Contribute ideas on ways to optimize or improve the team, the department, and the Company 

  • Execute Company initiatives and other activities requested by Supervisor 

  • Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities 

 

Education 

  • Bachelor's Degree Accounting, related field, and/or equivalent experience preferred 

 

Professional Experience 

  • 4+ years Accounting experience required and 

  • 1+ years Staff Accounting experience  

 

Skills List 

  • Experience working with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) preferred 

  • Proficiency with Business Intelligence or process-automation tools (e.g., Power BI or similar platforms) preferred 

  • Background in a medium-to-large company environment, preferably with inventory operations preferred 

  • Detail oriented, analytical, professional attitude, reliable 

  • Possesses strong organizational and time management skills; ability to meet deadlines 

  • Strong problem solving skills, basic accounting principles knowledge, documentation, research and resolution skills, ability to analyze data and multi-task 

  • Ability to work independently and with a team in a fast-paced and high volume environment with emphasis on accuracy and timeliness 

  • Understands the external landscape and stays up-to-date on local, national, and international policies and trends that affect the business function, as well as identifying ways to capitalize on new opportunities 

  • Efficiently manages shifting priorities to drive the best outcome for the business while supporting the team 

  • Demonstrates the ability to quickly learn product knowledge, skills and technical proficiencies that are required for the role

Compensation:

Competitive salary range of $68,000 - $74,000 * depending on qualifications and experience. For eligible Leadership and individual contributor roles, additional bonus opportunities may be available and awarded at the discretion of the Company.

*Pay amount does not guarantee employment for any particular time.
