Reporting to the Accounting Supervisor, the person in this position will play a key role in building a cross-functional accounting team to help ProAg meet and exceed its strategic vision.

This position will report to our Houston, Texas office.

In this Exciting Opportunity You Will

• Compile financial information and prepare entries to accounts, such as general ledger. accounts, document business transactions, and reconcile and close company accounts on a monthly basis.
• Perform general ledger duties to assist with monthly activity and closings.
• Perform monthly reconciliation of balance sheet accounts to general ledger balances.
• Prepare monthly bank reconciliations for specified amounts and may analyze daily bank activity.
• Analyze and document variances and account balances between periods.
• Prepare various schedules required for internal and external reporting on a GAAP basis.
• Assist the Houston Accounting Team with any ad-hoc projects.
• Perform various Accounts Payable tasks.

What You’ll Bring 

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related technical field or equivalent.
• 2 years of relevant and progressive accounting experience.
• Insurance Accounting experience preferred, but not required.
• Solid written and verbal communication skills with an emphasis on confidentiality, tact, and diplomacy.
• Advanced organizational and analytical skills, demonstrating the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
