Essential Job Functions

  • Manage end‑to‑end construction delivery of warehousing and logistics facilities, including distribution centers, cross‑dock terminals, fulfillment centers, and cold storage facilities
  • Coordinate pre‑construction activities, including constructability reviews, logistics flow assessments, and phasing plans aligned with operations
  • Oversee construction of dock doors, ramps, truck courts, yard layouts, slab specifications, high‑clearance structures, and racking‑ready floors
  • Manage integration of automation, material handling systems, conveyors, sortation, and WMS‑related infrastructure (in coordination with vendors)
  • Ensure facility designs support throughput, safety, inventory flow, and equipment movement
  • Control project budgets, schedules, change orders, and cost forecasts
  • Enforce safety plans, OSHA compliance, and site access controls
  • Coordinate with general contractors and design consultants to perform and complete all inspections, permitting, and regulatory approvals
  • Lead weekly construction progress meetings with contractors, design professionals and operational stakeholders
  • Manage punch lists, commissioning activities, and turnover to operations teams
  • Ensure construction supports uptime, business continuity, and operational readiness timelines

Other Skills & Abilities

  • Strong understanding of warehouse and logistics operations and material flow
  • Proven ability to coordinate construction with live or phased operations
  • Strong leadership, communication, and conflict‑resolution skills
  • Ability to manage multiple vendors, including automation and MHE providers
  • High attention to detail related to slab tolerances, clear heights, fire protection, and jurisdictional driven code compliance
  • Proficiency with construction management and scheduling software
  • Ability to translate operational requirements into construction execution

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to regularly walk large‑scale warehouse and logistics construction sites
  • Ability to climb ladders, mezzanines, and elevated platforms
  • Ability to inspect dock areas, racking zones, equipment pads, and yard infrastructure
  • Ability to work in active, noisy, and industrial environments, indoors and outdoors

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or related field (or equivalent professional experience)
  • 7–10+ years of construction management experience
  • Demonstrated experience delivering warehouse, distribution, logistics, or industrial facilities
  • Experience with large‑scale commercial or industrial projects (100,000+ sq. ft. preferred)
  • Experience coordinating construction alongside operations or aggressive go‑live deadlines preferred

CERTIFICATIONS AND LICENSES

  • OSHA 30‑Hour Construction Safety Certification (required or ability to obtain)
  • CCM, PMP, or similar construction or project management certification preferred
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Any required state or local construction licenses as applicable
  • Experience working with FM Global, fire/life safety authorities, and local AHJs preferred
