As a Software Engineer at JPMorganChase within the Commercial and Investment Bank Organization - Equities Sales & Trading Technology Team, you are an integral part of an agile team that works to enhance, build, and deliver trusted market-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way. As a core technical contributor, you are responsible for conducting critical technology solutions across multiple technical areas within various business functions in support of the firm’s business objectives.
Job responsibilities
Executes creative software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting with ability to think beyond routine or conventional approaches to build solutions or break down technical problems
Develops secure high-quality production code, and reviews and debugs code written by others
Identifies opportunities to eliminate or automate remediation of recurring issues to improve overall operational stability of software applications and systems
Participates in communities of practice across Software Engineering to drive awareness and use of new and leading-edge technologies
Develops high performance, low latency order management systems and GUIs to support global trading desks and flows, like Cash, Delta1 and ETF RFQ

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 3+ years applied experience
Proficient hands-on coding in TypeScript/JavaScript/React
Experience in designing and implementing distributed systems
Experience in design and development of high performance and low latency systems
Demonstrated experience with UI/UX principles
Hands-on experience with Web Development & Services
Advanced knowledge of architecture and design
Experience in developing, debugging, and maintaining code in a large corporate environment with one or more modern programming languages and database querying languages
Overall knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle
Solid understanding of agile methodologies such as CI/CD, Application Resiliency, and Security
Demonstrated knowledge of software applications and technical processes within a technical discipline (e.g., cloud, artificial intelligence, machine learning, mobile, etc.)
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
Familiarity with Testing, Automation, CI/CD Pipeline
Knowledge of industry-wide technology trends and best practices
Ability to work in large, globally distributed, collaborative teams to achieve organizational goals
Understanding of software skills such as business analysis, coding, maintenance and continuous software improvement
