Description

Cimarron is seeking a Software Engineer with a strong background in Data Science and/or Mathematics to support the Axiom Space Commercial Space Station program in Houston, TX.  The selected candidate will play a key role in implementing and enhancing a telemetry analysis tool, performing post-processing of collected telemetry data for verification, and contributing to the core functionality of automated test suites. While Python is preferred, candidates with a solid programming foundation who can quickly adapt to new languages are encouraged to apply.

Key Duties:

  • Contribute to the design, development, and implementation of a telemetry analysis tool.
  • Perform post-processing of collected telemetry data to support system verification and validation.
  • Develop and enhance automated test suite functionality to improve test coverage and efficiency.
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts across disciplines to integrate software with broader system requirements.
  • Participate in code reviews, documentation, and configuration management processes.


Requirements

Required Skills, Experience, and Education: 

  • Due to facility security requirements, only U.S. citizens are eligible for consideration at this time.
  • Ability to complete a pre-employment background check and drug screening, which will include but is not limited to testing for marijuana use.
  • 5 or more years of software development experience. 
  • Experience coding with C++ or Python in a Linux environment. 
  • Experience with automated testing frameworks and test-driven development.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, or another related technical discipline.

Desired Skills, Experience, and Education: 

  • Experience with VxWorks.
  • Experience with real-time systems.
  • Experience with automated testing frameworks and test-driven development.
  • Familiarity with data visualization tools and libraries.
  • Experience working with scientific computing packages (NumPy, SciPy, Pandas, etc.).
  • Exposure to software development in Linux environments.
  • Experience supporting aerospace or defense programs.
