We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior IT System Administrator/System Analyst to join our JETS II contract team at NASA Johnson Space Center in Houston, TX.

If selected you will:

  • Be responsible for analyzing, designing, and implementing information systems that align with business needs.
  • Work closely with stakeholders to gather requirements, troubleshoot issues, and ensure that systems function efficiently and effectively. This is a great opportunity for a detail-oriented individual with strong analytical skills and a passion for optimizing technology solutions.

Qualifications:

  • Typically requires a bachelor's degree or equivalent certification in a related area and normally possess 10 years of experience in the field or in a related area.
  • Minimum of 5+ years of experience as a Systems Analyst or in a similar role.
  • Proven experience with systems analysis, design, and implementation.
  • Proficiency in system analysis tools and methodologies.
  • Experience with SQL, databases, and ERP systems.
  • Knowledge of programming languages such as Java, Python, or C# is an advantage.
  • Knowledge and experience with AWS cloud operations.
  • Familiarity with project management tools (e.g., JIRA, Microsoft Project).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong work aptitude and interest in learning new technologies.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field. A Master's degree is a plus.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to identify business needs and translate them into detailed technical requirements and specifications.
  • Analyze existing systems and processes to identify areas for improvement and recommend solutions.
  • Proven experience administering Windows 2019+/Linux systems in a complex environment.
  • Develop detailed system designs, workflows, and data models to support business requirements.
  • Coordinate and support the implementation of new systems or enhancements, including testing and troubleshooting.
  • Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for system processes, configurations, and user guides.
  • Develop and execute test plans to ensure systems function as intended and meet quality standards.
  • Serve as a liaison between IT teams and business units to ensure clear communication and effective solutions.
  • Monitor system performance and recommend enhancements to improve efficiency and user experience.
  • Ensure systems adhere to compliance standards and security protocols. Assist in remediating security vulnerabilities.
