Position Summary

We are seeking a Senior Accountant / Financial Analyst to join our finance team. This dual-function role combines core accounting responsibilities with strategic financial analysis to support business decision-making. The ideal candidate will manage day-to-day general ledger activities, lead the monthly and annual close processes, and develop insightful financial reports and dashboards that drive operational excellence across the organization.

Requirements

General Ledger & Accounting Operations

Maintain and reconcile the general ledger, ensuring accuracy and compliance with GAAP. Prepare and post journal entries, including accruals, prepaids, depreciation, and intercompany transactions. Perform monthly bank reconciliations and balance sheet account reconciliations. Manage fixed asset accounting, including capitalization, depreciation schedules, and disposals. Ensure proper revenue recognition in accordance with ASC 606 and government contract accounting requirements (FAR/DFAR) where applicable. Support accounts payable and accounts receivable functions as needed.

Month-End and Year-End Close

Lead the monthly, quarterly, and annual close process, ensuring timely and accurate completion. Produce and distribute monthly financial packages for leadership review. Prepare financial statements including balance sheet, income statement, and cash flow statement. Develop and maintain close checklists and schedules to improve efficiency and ensure completeness. Coordinate with external auditors during annual audits and provide supporting documentation. Assist with tax filings and compliance reporting as required.

Financial Analysis & Reporting

Develop and maintain financial dashboards and KPI reports for senior leadership. Perform variance analysis comparing actual results to budget and forecast, identifying trends and providing actionable insights. Build financial models to support strategic initiatives, pricing decisions, and capital expenditure analysis. Prepare ad-hoc analysis and special projects as requested by leadership. Partner with department heads to understand operational drivers and translate them into financial impact. Support the annual budgeting and quarterly forecasting processes.

Desired Experience/Skills

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. Minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting experience, including general ledger management and month-end close. Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting standards. Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite, Sage, or similar). Advanced Excel skills including pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, and financial modeling. Experience creating dashboards and visualizations using tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or Excel. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills. Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications

CPA certification strongly preferred. Experience in Workday Financials is a plus. Experience in aerospace, defense, or government contracting industries. Familiarity with FAR/DFAR and DCAA audit requirements. Experience with cost accounting and job costing methodologies. Knowledge of ASC 606 revenue recognition for long-term contracts.

  • Regularly ascend/descend stairs.
  • Occasional aircraft hangar or warehouse environment with exposure to loud noises, fumes from engines and chemicals, unpredictable climate (hot/cold), and electrical shock, or trip or slip hazards.
  • May be exposed to hazardous material.
  • Specific work hours determined by operational, departmental, or contractual requirements.
  • Occasional evening, weekend, holiday work may be required.
  • Travel to various work sites may be required.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Work Authorization
