Security Guard

The Security Guard is responsible for maintaining a secure environment for all students, faculty and staff on the campus grounds.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Monitor and authorize entrance and departure of employees, visitors, and other persons to guard against theft and maintain security of premises
• Intervene in activities that may result in injury and encourage students to not participate in such conduct
• Help supervise arrival and dismissal of students during carpool
• Intercept visitors and check for proper identification and escort to exits if not authorized
• Notify police and emergency personnel when there is an emergency or unusual situation
• Notify the correct personnel when there is evidence of substance abuse, severe medical conditions, child abuse, potential suicide, alcohol abuse, etc
• Assist police, fire personnel, and other emergency crews when necessary

• 2 years of security experience preferred
• Ability to work in a team environment
• Ability to communicate verbally and in writing  
• The ability to work a flexible schedule and overtime hours.  
• Valid Texas Driver’s license and be able to safely operate motor vehicles.

WORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL DEMANDS   

• Must be able to work outdoors
• Stand, sit, kneel, walk for 8 hours/day
