  • Successful completion of interview required to meet job qualification

Job overview and responsibilities

The Principal Engineer is a technical expert with extensive knowledge of SAM Pro. This role manages the technical design, configuration, implementation, and maintenance of SAM Pro within the ServiceNow platform. Plays a crucial role in enabling the technology to accurately capture software investments and license compliance. Works to integrate SAM Pro with other IT service management (ITSM) modules as well as procurement, finance and other technologies. Maintains the SAM module and ensures performance. Works cross-functionality with a strong understanding of ITAM processes and practices.

  • Lead the end-to-end implementation and configuration of ServiceNow SAM Pro features, including software discovery, reconciliation, license management, and compliance reporting
  • Customize and configure ServiceNow applications, workflows, UI policies, and scripting to meet specific organizational needs
  • Develop and maintain integrations between ServiceNow SAM Pro and other IT systems (e.g., procurement, finance, and IT operations)
  • Provide technical support, troubleshooting, and resolution of complex issues related to ServiceNow SAM Pro implementation and integrations
  • Plan and design best practice solutions after requirements are gathered; look for improvements and enhancement opportunities
  • Ensure that all development work adheres to established coding standards and best practices
  • Leads ServiceNow platform upgrades and stay current on new platform features and best practices
