Personal Care Attendant (PCA) – Job Description- Spanish Speaking
Position Overview
A Personal Care Attendant provides essential support to individuals who need assistance with daily living activities due to age, disability, illness, or recovery. The PCA helps clients maintain comfort, safety, dignity, and independence in their home or care setting.
Key Responsibilities

Personal Care Support — Assist with bathing, grooming, dressing, toileting, and hygiene.

Mobility Assistance — Support safe transfers, repositioning, walking, and use of mobility aids.

Meal Preparation — Prepare meals according to dietary needs and assist with feeding when required.

Medication Reminders — Prompt clients to take medications as directed (no medication administration unless certified).

Household Tasks — Perform light housekeeping such as laundry, dishes, tidying, and maintaining a safe environment.

Companionship — Provide social interaction, conversation, emotional support, and engagement in activities.

Transportation/Errands — Assist with appointments, shopping, or community outings (if applicable).

Monitoring & Reporting — Observe and report changes in physical or emotional condition to supervisors or family members.
Qualifications
- Experience in caregiving, home health, or personal assistance preferred.
- Ability to lift, transfer, and support clients safely.
- Strong communication skills and a compassionate, patient demeanor.
- Reliable transportation and punctuality.
- CPR/First Aid certification (preferred or required depending on employer).
- Ability to pass background checks and meet state requirements.
- Must be bilingual
