We offer a creative and friendly environment with plenty of opportunity for advancement.

Be part of our next chapter.

francesca’s is writing a new story—one of reinvention, relevance, and bold growth. With 410 boutiques in 45 states, a fast-growing e-commerce business, and a powerful brand, we’re building something fresh in the world of accessible fashion. Following some hard but necessary chapters, we’re now on the rise—and we’re calling in strategic thinkers, boundary-pushers, and builders to shape what comes next.

This is a unique opportunity to bring compliance, accuracy, and problem-solving together to ensure francesca’s payrolls run seamlessly. We’re not looking for someone to simply process checks—we want a teammate who thrives on detail, investigation, and collaboration to keep payroll precise, compliant, and trusted across the business.

What You’ll Own:

  • Payroll Processing: Assist with weekly, bi-weekly and daily payroll responsibilities, including balancing imported hours, retro payments, bonus batches, and exception reporting.
  • Auditing: Conducting internal and external payroll audits to ensure data accuracy and compliance
  • Compliance & Controls: Manage garnishment payments accurately and on time, while ensuring compliance with regulations and internal controls.
  • Regulatory Knowledge: Knowledge of federal, state, and local payroll laws, wage and hour regulations, and tax filing requirements across multiple states.
  • Error Resolution & Remediation: Investigate and resolve payroll system errors, analyze root causes, and calculate off-cycle checks as needed.
  • System Testing & Enhancements: Support Workday testing, implementation, and release activities to maintain system accuracy and functionality.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with HR, Benefits, and Finance to ensure payroll and policy alignment.
  • Special Projects: Jump in on additional payroll or audit-related initiatives to continuously improve accuracy and efficiency.

What You Bring:

  • 2–3 years of direct multi-state payroll processing experience.
  • Workday experience required.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, with intermediate Excel skills (formulas, pivots, V-Look ups, reconciliations).
  • Understanding of payroll tax withholding, remittances, and reporting including experience with year-end tax forms like W-2s..
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to explain payroll matters clearly—even in urgent or challenging situations.
  • Highly detail-oriented, organized, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ethical, professional, and confidential approach to sensitive payroll data.
  • Self-starter with a process improvement mindset and willingness to take on additional responsibilities.
  • Strong team player with the ability to collaborate across functions.
  • Advanced technical and analytical skills, and strong problem solving abilities
  • Knowledge of benefit-related payroll transactions such as 401(k) contributions

You’ll Thrive Here If You:

  • Love the build: You’re energized by change and see whitespace as possibility, not chaos.
  • See beyond the numbers: You know that storytelling and timing matter just as much as accuracy.
  • Believe retail isn’t dead—just different: You’re curious about consumer behavior, digital shifts, and how finance fuels relevance.
  • Lead with humility and high standards: You expect a lot of yourself and your team, and you roll up your sleeves to help them get there.
