We're searching for a Manager of Nursing Urgent Care, someone who works well in a fast-paced setting. In this position, you'll direct, supervise, and coordinate the daily operations of the Urgent Care Centers and various projects as assigned by the Assistant Director (or above) of the Urgent Care Centers.

Job Duties & Responsibilities

  • Manages daily operations of assigned Urgent Care, including, but not limited to, customizing site operations, communicating and collaborating with team members to ensure the successful operation of Urgent Care including but not limited to physician, parent, patient complaints, and suggestions
  • Manages human resources through hiring, developing, and coaching competent staff and investigating/resolving all employee, patient, and physician complaints and concerns, and ensures regulatory compliance of assigned Health Centers by all accrediting bodies including JCAHO, HCFA, CLIA, OSHA, ADA, and TDH while also conducting special projects as needed for Urgent Care
  • Coaches and develops using an inter-disciplinary approach for individual team members by providing structured feedback for each staff member through yearly development plans and informal and/or formal follow-ups. Assists in the development of nurses along the novice to expert continuum
  • Demonstrates effective communication skills with the health care team and works to eliminate communication barriers. Serves as a liaison between physicians, families, nursing staff, and ancillary departments to promote high patient, physician, and other team member satisfaction
  • Monitors current and projected workflow and clinical processes via data collection and observation. Effectively and succinctly compiles, analyzes, and presents data to diagnose process improvement opportunities and goals to team and department
  • Demonstrates accountability for cost-effective management of equipment and supplies while ensuring the department achieves patient care goals
  • Demonstrates service philosophies to patients and families. Identifies self, explains visit process, and provides information regarding the length of visit

Skills & Requirements

  • Associate degree in nursing or an associate’s degree in a related field accepted by the Texas Board of Nursing for the purposes of obtaining and maintaining an RN license required
  • Bachelor’s degree in nursing preferred

Licenses/Certifications:  

  • RN - Lic-Registered Nurses by Texas Board of Nursing or Nursing Licensure Compact and BLS - Cert-Basic Life Support by American Heart Association required
  • 2 years of pediatric emergency room or urgent care nursing experience and 2 years of formal supervision experience required
