WSP is currently initiating a search for a Mid-Level Electrical Engineer to join our Power & Energy team in Houston, TX. The candidate will be involved in projects with our Power & Energy Team and be a part of a growing organization that meets our client’s objectives and solves their challenges.

Your Impact
- Lead and support electrical engineer on design of power generation projects
- Lead and support electrical engineer on the design of renewable energy projects
- Lead and support electrical engineer on power plant and switchyard electrical system upgrades
- Lead and support electrical engineer on federal electrical system upgrades
- Mentor and teach junior engineers
- Project proposal and budget development
- Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct, and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures.
- Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs.
Who You Are
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering.
- 3+ years of detailed electrical design engineering experience, including calculations, equipment specifications, etc.
- 3+ years of relay coordination and schematic design
- Engineer in Training Certification.
- CAD, Microsoft Office, and ETAP or SKM software experience
- Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP’s health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies.
- Ability to work schedules conducive to project-specific requirements that may extend beyond the typical workweek.
- Occasional travel may be required depending on project-specific requirements.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master’s Degree in Engineering.
- Essential Professional Licensure/Certification.
- Previous experience leading a group of engineers is a plus
- 3+ years of detailed design engineering experience in generating facilities and/or substations is a plus
- 3+ years of owners engineering experience in generating facilities and/or substations is a plus
