Job Overview:

The engineer will act as a key technical contact for both internal teams and external clients across multiple firestop product lines. Core responsibilities include assisting customers with product selection, installation guidance, and providing engineering judgments for unique site conditions. Beyond customer support, the role includes contributing to firestop-related initiatives such as troubleshooting, product testing, and supporting certification efforts. Onsite visits may be required to help resolve complex field issues. This hybrid role will require an office presence for three to four days on-site at our facility during regular business hours. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical expertise and training with a focus on firestop products and applications.
  • Act as a technical liaison between internal teams and external stakeholders, including customers, distributors, contractors, and inspectors.
  • Respond to technical calls and emails from internal sales teams, distributors, and installers.
  • Assist customers with product selection based on project requirements and firestop conditions.
  • Provide installation recommendations and develop Engineering Judgments (EJs) for unique or non-standard field conditions.
  • Conduct jobsite visits to evaluate firestop applications and assist with problem resolution.
  • Support product certification efforts, including in-house firestop testing and documentation.
  • Troubleshoot and identify root causes of technical issues in firestop installations.
  • Ensure timely and accurate responses to technical inquiries regarding the use and application of RectorSeal firestop products.
  • Deliver training and technical support to both internal staff and external customers.
  •  Stay current on firestop technologies, industry testing standards, building codes, and relevant regulations.
  • Conduct competitive analysis of firestop products and systems to support product development and market positioning.

Minimum Requirements: 

  • Bachelor's degree
  • 1 year of recent working experience in Engineering

Preferred Requirements:

  • BS or BA in Engineering or other Technical Discipline
  • 3 year experience with firestop industry, such as fire testing, firestop installation, or firestop inspection.
  • 5 year experience with construction industry.

Skills/Competencies:

  • Understand the technical drawings
  • Familiar with AutoCAD or Solidworks
  • Strong communication and written skills 
  • Passion for customer experience and problem solving
  • Excellent telephone and written communications skills
