Position Overview

We are seeking a Mechanical Designer to support engineering and project teams in the development of custom industrial equipment and systems. This role is responsible for creating detailed designs, reviewing drawings, and supporting the execution of projects from concept through completion.

This position will collaborate closely with engineering and project management teams to develop design concepts, generate technical documentation, and ensure projects are completed on time and within scope.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review project requirements and design specifications to develop accurate and complete designs
  • Create and modify 2D and 3D drawings using AutoCAD and Autodesk Inventor
  • Develop project-specific designs for fabricated equipment and components
  • Collaborate with engineering and project teams to define scope, timelines, and deliverables
  • Utilize standard templates or modify existing CAD files to meet project requirements
  • Analyze drawings, reports, and technical data to support design decisions
  • Ensure all drawings meet internal quality standards and project specifications
  • Review and check drawings created by other team members for accuracy and consistency
  • Assist with preparation of project scopes, estimates, and technical documentation

Qualifications

  • Associate’s degree in Drafting, CAD Technology, or related field- OR equivalent experience (8+ years in a mechanical design environment)

  • 3–5+ years of experience in mechanical design or CAD drafting

  • Strong experience with:- AutoCAD

    • Autodesk Inventor (3D modeling)
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, and engineering requirements

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with pressure vessel design or ASME-related equipment
  • Background in oil & gas, petrochemical, or industrial equipment manufacturing
  • Familiarity with Creo (Sheetmetal)
  • Experience working in a project-based engineering environment

Work Environment

  • Combination of office-based design work and collaboration with engineering teams
  • Fast-paced, project-driven environment requiring attention to detail and accuracy

Physical Requirements

  • Primarily desk-based work with extended periods of sitting and computer use
  • Occasional light lifting (up to ~10 lbs)
  • Requires strong attention to detail and visual accuracy
