This role is responsible for managing warranty claims and technical resolutions with OEMs, EPCs, and component manufacturers.
Key Responsibilities:
Warranty Lifecycle Management
- Oversee the full lifecycle of warranty claims for utility-scale PV and BESS assets, ensuring timely and accurate resolution.
- Maintain a centralized warranty tracking system with detailed documentation of claims, timelines, and outcomes.
- Ensure all claims are filed within contractual timelines and in accordance with OEM and EPC warranty terms.
Authorized Service Provider (ASP) Program Management
- Serve as program owner for all OEM authorized service provider agreements across PV and BESS assets.
- Lead ASP onboarding, certification, and renewal activities, including:
- OEM training and credential requirements
- Technician qualification and authorization tracking
- Tooling, firmware, software access, and documentation controls
- Act as primary OEM point of contact for ASP audits, performance reviews, corrective actions, and contract renewals
- Partner with Operations, Training, and HSE teams to ensure field personnel remain continuously qualified and compliant with OEM ASP requirements
Stakeholder & Vendor Coordination
- Act as the primary liaison with OEMs, EPCs, and component manufacturers for warranty-related matters.
- Lead negotiations and escalations to ensure timely and cost-effective resolution of claims.
- Coordinate with legal and procurement teams to interpret and enforce warranty clauses.
Commercial Warranty Remediation Services
- Develop and present remediation proposals to warranty providers for claim-related repairs, replacements, or upgrades.
- Sell internal service capabilities (e.g., field repair, component replacement, diagnostics) as reimbursable solutions under warranty agreements.
- Build cost estimates, scopes of work, and technical justifications to support commercial discussions with OEMs and EPCs.
- Track and report on revenue generated from warranty remediation services.
Data Management & Reporting
- Maintain accurate records of warranty claims, part replacements, and service interventions, and ASP authorizations across all utility-scale sites.
- Own centralized tracking of:
- ASP certifications and OEM authorizations
- Technician qualifications and expirations
- OEM compliance metrics
- Generate and present regular reports on warranty KPIs, trends, ASP performance, financial recovery, and remediation revenue.
Process Optimization
- Identify inefficiencies in the warranty and ASP processes and implement improvements to reduce claim cycle time, OEM dependency, and increase recovery rates.
- Standardize warranty workflows and documentation practices across all utility-scale projects.
Compliance & Risk Mitigation
- Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory standards during ASP and warranty-related interventions.
- Proactively identify warranty risks and develop mitigation strategies during project commissioning and handover phases.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Renewable Energy, or related technical field.
- 5–8 years of experience in warranty, operations, or asset management
- Proven experience in commercial negotiations and selling technical services to OEMs or EPCs.
- Deep understanding of PV modules, inverters, transformers, switchgear, and BESS technologies.
- Familiarity with OEM warranty structures, EPC contracts, and service-level agreements (SLAs).
- Strong analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.
- Proficiency in ERP and CMMS platforms (e.g., ServiceMax, Maximo), and reporting tools (e.g., Power BI, Excel).
- Ability to travel to project sites and vendor facilities as needed.
