Description

Cheniere Supply Chain Management (SCM) is shaping an organization focused on delivering an agile and resilient supply chain aligned with the Company’s growth and performance objectives.  The Cheniere SCM team is accountable for supporting business partners to deliver value, mitigate risk and assure security of supply across the LNG value stream.   

 

POSITION OVERVIEW

The Manager, Warehouse Operations reports directly to the Director, SCM Delivery and will work with internal and external key stakeholders such as: Engineering and Construction (E&C), Operations, Information Technology (IT), Security, Health Safety and Environmental (HSE), Suppliers and Service Providers, to manage and lead day-to-day interfaces and processes for the safe delivery of warehouse operations, inventory management, and material distribution. These responsibilities are in support of key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics associated with on-time delivery, material availability, demand fulfilment and supply execution, cost optimization, disruptions and risk mitigation. This critical role is accountable for ensuring high and sustained customer satisfaction and delivering productivity targets, as well as development/optimization of warehouse operations standards, procedures and guidelines in support of operations and maintenance of the Company’s LNG terminals and Pipeline facilities. 

 

The Manager, Warehouse Operations will collaborate with other SCM functions to develop and execute strategies supporting continuous improvement for processes related to purchasing, inventory, and logistics operations, and will be accountable for compliance of safety standards, workload planning/forecast targets, customer service improvement, increased productivity, inventory and data accuracy and cost optimization. 

 

The Manager, Warehouse Operations will be a champion for safe operations, cultivate a high-performance culture across multiple physical warehouse locations.  Additionally, the Warehouse Operations Manager shall communicate effectively, collaborate with other teams and functions, seek innovative solutions and drive continuous improvement. 

This is a non-DOT position.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES AND ESSENTIAL DUTIES

Leadership & Influencing

  • Routinely communicates with key business stakeholders emphasizing process adherence, to align the strategic intent of the warehouse operations, demand fulfilment and the business needs. 
  • Actively influence senior leaders to gain alignment and access to appropriate resources for opportunities related but not limited to warehouse operations, inventory management, and purchasing. 
  • Leads innovation and the introduction of changes considering internal and external market challenges. Seek for procedures and system enhancements, upgrades, etc., to increase efficiency within warehouse operations and demand fulfilment. 

 

Stakeholder Management

  • Lead, manage, and support warehouse operations’ teams to establish ways-of-working that promotes safe operations, increased productivity and efficiency.
  • Provide support to Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) objectives, with emphasis on critical material suppliers.

 

Work Execution

  • Promote and role model a safe working environment across Company’s warehouse facilities. 
  • Drive and sustain a high-performance culture aligned with Company Values.
  • Oversee day-to-day warehouse operations for Company’s warehouse facilities. 
  • Develop, optimize and implement warehouse and inventory management systems, policies, standards, procedures, guidelines, etc., to increase efficiency, productivity and accuracy.
  • Maintain health and safety standards, ensuring compliance with all Company’s policies, procedures and law regulations (e.g.: OSHA, PHMSA).
  • Develop and monitor KPIs and performance metrics, identify and resolve issues to improve productivity, material availability and customers service levels while minimizing disruption.
  • Develop reports and perform data analytics with focus on continuous improvement and data quality assurance.
  • Coordinate and collaborate with other SCM functions to align supply chain management’s strategies and procedures. Provide deep expertise within SCM Delivery, with an intimate knowledge of inventory management, logistics, and warehouse operations. 
  • Effectively support the integration and collaboration between operation planning, inventory management, purchasing, invoicing and payment processes, to identify efficiencies and improvement opportunities. 
  • Responsible for the development and implementation of mitigation plans to address audit findings, non-compliances scenarios, etc.
  • Manage warehouse layout and space planning to maximize efficiency and workflow. 
  • Oversee inventory control, cycle counting and reconciliation process.
  • Responsible for warehouse personnel management, including recruitment, training, performance evaluation, coaching and development.
  • Assist with warehouse operations annual budget forecast.
  • Responsible for execution of Business Continuity and Emergency Response plan in support of Company’s operations.
  • Serve as Company’s designated FTZ Authorized Representative (as needed), which will require a United States Customs and Border Protection (CBP) background check. Provide support during CBD audits/visits to Company’s facilities.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS

Knowledge:

  • In-depth knowledge of all processes and capabilities to safely and effectively manage warehouse operations and inventory required in the construction, maintenance, and operation environment of the energy industry including OSHA requirements.
  • Solid background supporting and/or leading warehouse operations teams, material distribution, inventory control and movement of critical material, consumables and equipment.
  • Foreign Trade Zone (FTZ) administration/management.
  • Significant knowledge of risk management, supply disruption and predictive analytics in support of recommendations to secure supply and drive continuous improvement.
  • Understanding of plant operations, materials demand planning and scheduling, transportation, logistics, storage and processing including safety and security, maintenance, governmental regulations and associated codes and standards.

 Skills:

  • Understanding of warehouse operations, materials management and storage, transportation, logistics (including safety and security), demand planning, governmental regulations and associated codes and standards.
  • Previous experience supervising/leading personnel in an operations environment. 
  • Ability to work self-directed, independently and with a proactive approach.
  • Exceptional problem-solving. Ability to collect, analyze and interpret data, identify issues/opportunities, recommend and implement solutions.
  • Outstanding written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills. Ability to work with cross-functional teams and build relationships to achieve results.
  • Detailed oriented, organized, and able to complete multiple activities and programs timely and with a high degree of accuracy.
  • Computer savvy, including Oracle, Maximo, PowerBI, Tableu, and Microsoft Office suite.

 

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Education and Certifications: Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, Accounting, Engineering, or related business. Master’s degree preferred. 

 

Experience: Minimum ten (10) years of combined experience in management role supporting warehouse operations, inventory management, demand planning and material distribution (traffic and shipping). Experience within LNG or oil and gas industry preferred.

Warehouse Supervisors and Coordinators.

 

FREEDOM TO ACT

Requires minimum supervision/guidance. Must also use sound judgment and make good decisions.

 

WORK CONDITIONS

  • This position is office-based in Houston.
  • Regular travel will be required (70% of the time) to warehouse locations at Company’s LNG terminal operations located in Corpus Christi, TX, and Sabine Pass, LA as well as Pipeline compressor stations.
  • Responsibilities must be met in a 24/7 call-out environment, including holidays, weekends and nights.
  • It is often required to stand, walk, sit, climb stairs, work at height above ground on stairs and catwalks, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, talk or hear, smell, type and write. 
  • Employee will work indoors and outdoors, with occasional exposure to year-round weather conditions.
  • Subject to drug and alcohol testing, per applicable federal and internal regulations.
  • Forklift operation certification is required and shall be maintained valid for the support of the warehouse operations and materials management.
