Our Houston facility is growing, and we’re looking for a skilled Maintenance Mechanic to help us maintain high standards of quality and reliability.

Job Summary

The Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for performing scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on production equipment, including mechanical, electrical, and building systems. Strong experience with PLCs (Programmable Logic Controllers) is essential for success in this role.

Key Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot and repair PLC-controlled systems, motor controls, and electrical components.
  • Perform mechanical repairs, replacements, and installations.
  • Collaborate with production supervisors to minimize downtime.
  • Document maintenance activities in work order systems and logs.
  • Support equipment startup/shutdown and facility security.
  • Contribute to safety, reliability, and productivity improvements.
  • Learn and maintain all equipment safely and efficiently.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum 5 years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong mechanical and troubleshooting skills.
  • Proficient in PLCs, pneumatics, hydraulics, and motor controls.
  • Ability to read pipe and wire schematics.
  • Basic math and English literacy.
  • Forklift certification (or willingness to obtain).
  • Ability to lift 50+ lbs and perform physical tasks regularly.
  • Must be a proactive self-starter with a positive attitude.

Preferred Trade Skills & Certifications

Please indicate if you have any of the following:

  • Machine shop experience
  • Welding certification
  • Electrician license
  • Other relevant trade licenses or certifications

Safety Requirements

  • Must be able to read and understand Safety Data Sheets (SDS).
  • Required PPE includes: steel-toe shoes, eye protection, and other equipment as needed.

Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to a warehouse environment. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to use hands and fingers to type or dial, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, and reach with hands and arms.

The employee must be able to lift and/or move up 50 pounds or more. This position requires computer use. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, distance vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
