The Information Technology organization is the technological foundation of our business and works in collaboration with our partners from across the company. The team drives technology and digital transformation, partners with business leaders to design and execute new strategies through IT and operations services and ensures the necessary IT risk management and security measures are in place and aligned with enterprise architecture standards and principles.

About The Role

Work under the direction of the Ecosystem Manager to manage a large/multi-national MFaaS team to support legacy mainframe and iSeries environments consisting of 6 Z/OS LPARs and 2500 MIPS and 5 iSeries AS400s.  Solid understanding of both IBM Z/OS and iSeries environments with the ability to lead 2 separate teams of consultants with both outsourced and colocation infrastructure. Will need to assist with managing technical and delivery manager staff to support 24x7 operations.  Must understand compliance, audit, and security responsibilities within a highly regulated and audited environment. 

 In the role of the Mainframe Administrator, you will be collaborating with other teams ensuring the mainframe and iSeries environments are maintained, configured and supported properly within the environment. This position will require support and administration functions as well as auditing and financial responsibilities within the organization. 

Responsibilities

  • Under the direction of the Ecosystem manager manage the  MFaaS outsourcing contract and vendor to documented KPIs
  • Manage iSeries team, including 1 staff member and multiple contractors
  • Onboard/offboard service providers staffing and troubleshoot issues accordingly   
  • Work with Service providers senior staff to manage technical work/day to day functions
  • Attend daily operations turnover call to drive vendor to continuously improve service
  • Review/Verify software usage on mainframe and iSeries platforms and manage contract renewals, as required
  • Review daily changes in environment for compliance/scheduling etc. to adhere to strong change management processes
  • Manage ServiceNow groups to align with support structure  
  • Attend technical calls to help drive numerous project oriented work
  • Interface with C-Level management for finance approval/project reviews
  • Overall ownership and responsibility of 24x7 MFaaS and daily operations
  • Working with the Incident Command Center manage MFaaS incidents and provide technical input into resolution and RCAs, as needed
  • Work closely with both internal and external architecture resources to help provide cost effective solutions for the business
  • Oversee outsourcing billing to verify usage stays within monthly projections
  • Responsible for working with compliance teams to respond to audits and maintaining necessary controls

Skills and Qualifications

  • 5+ years working in a Mainframe z/OS environment 
  • Strong work ethic with minimal management supervision
  • Direct working experience with a variety of z/OS and iSeries hardware/software, including DASD, Z hardware platform, and TAD software for z/OS. 
  • Working knowledge of JES2, Z/OS and components, Broadcom/CA software, and other ISV software products. 
  • Understand the relationship and usage of MIPS and MSUs and the relationship with ISV software and mainframe billing 
  • Understand potential interactions with ISV software products and business applications 
  • Must be able to build strong relationships and work closely with numerous groups within the business, including finance, compliance, IAM, vendor management and IT architecture teams. 
  • Understand compliance regulations, including SOC/SOX, NYDFS 
  • Working knowledge of ServiceNow for change/incident/problem and CMDB 
  • Must manage the budget within the MFaaS and iSeries space   
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience

This position is based in Corebridge Financial’s Houston, TX office and is subject to our hybrid working policy, which gives colleagues the benefits of working both in an office and remotely.
