Your Role at KIK

 

As a Machine Operator 2, you will operate and monitor equipment to ensure efficient and safe production. You will perform equipment setup, quality checks, and basic troubleshooting to keep the line running smoothly. Success in this role is measured by maintaining product quality, minimizing downtime, and supporting overall production performance.

 



Responsibilities

What You’ll Do

 

Essential Job Functions 

  • Machine Operation & Setup: Load flat cardboard blanks into the magazine, start/stop the machine, and adjust settings for different box sizes.

  • Production Monitoring: Ensure a continuous supply of erected, bottom-sealed cases to prevent downstream packing line bottlenecks.

  • Quality Control: Inspect boxes to ensure they are properly sealed (glue or tape), correctly squared, and free of defects to maintain stacking strength.

  • Maintenance & Troubleshooting: Clear machine jams, clean sensors, and perform minor adjustments (e.g., checking belts/chains) to minimize downtime.

  • Material Handling: Transport raw materials (corrugated stock) to the workstation using equipment like pallet jacks.

  • Safety Adherence: Follow all company, safety policy.

Qualifications

What You'll Bring

  • 1-2 years’ experience as a Machine operator in the packaging industry. 
  • Production knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control and other techniques for effective manufacturing preferred.  
  • Must be able to verbally communicate, read and write in English. 
  • Basic mathematics skills required. 
  • Must be able to take direction and work unsupervised

We understand compensation is an important factor as you consider the next step in your career. This position has a base hourly rate of $22.66. The actual rate may vary based upon several factors including your relevant skills and experience.
